    Hello,

My name is Elizabeth and I am new to this site, I have visited daily reading other posts since I found out I was pregnant with twin @ 5 weeks. I didn’t want to join until it was confirmed at my last u/s (on the 17th) because I was warned about the vanishing twin, plus I found out about the twins because my hormone level was double what was to be expected. SO, they thought I was just further along then we originally thought, so then my Dr. sent me to get an u/s and found 2 inside (they said identical)… I have a 9 year old son, and my hormone levels were double with him, AND every test we had during that pregnancy came back “leveled” and we would then have to schlep to a specialist only to find out he was fine (it was a VERY stressful pregnancy)… so when he was born 6 weeks early and weighed 6 lb 6 oz I always thought we were just further along (it would have explained soooo much)… but now maybe he had a vanishing twin (twins run on the women side of my family)… who knows… but I had also lost a pregnancy @ 8 weeks before I had my son… so I just wanted to wait, plus I still think I’m in shock, if it weren’t for the extreme morning sickness and the fact I look further along then I am (I’m all tummy)…. I am mentally not sure about this twin thing. Plus I found out I had hypo thyroid (probably why I wanted the heater on when it was 80 degrees) and would sleep 8 hours take my son to school and nap for 2 hours… I went from running 5 miles a day in the AM, walking my dog another 2 miles in the PM, to not being able to walk around the block (I do live in the hills so they aren’t “normal blocks”). I could post a million things and will soon to see if others have dealt with these issues as well, but for now I wanted to say HI and introduce myself… I am due May 16th and I guess that makes me a day shy from 10 weeks. My Dr. has already said we will schedule the c- section for May 3rd (ISH) but also reminded me twins decide when they want out and we just do our best to try to keep them in until the 3rd.

PS the u/s went great, one twin was dancing (it reminded me of the gofer in caddie shack) the other did a quick flip only to be kicked in the head by the dancing twin. they measured 9w 5d and 10w 0d. and they had GREAT h/b

Hi and welcome! I am almost 23 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins and I have Grave's Disease, a hyperthyroid disorder. I used to run three miles every day until I started getting fatigued really easily, my heart rate was consistently above 100, and I would be FREEZING when it was 90 degrees! So I totally understand ;) I currently see a peri so they can monitor the babies every two weeks, since I am on thyroid meds to keep everything regulated. And so far, so good! Congratulations on your twins! :sign0016:

Hi, I am new to the forum as well. I am also expecting twins I am 24 and half weeks. When I found out they were twins I think I went straight into denial. As for the ultrasound with one kicking the other in the head. That happened with me as well. The girl hit the boy in the head. lol. I just thought well at least I know she will be able to defend herself against her brother lol.

I hope you have a fabulous pregnancy. Don't forget to drink plenty of water as I didn't drink enough in the early stages and ended up dehydrated. Some people or just me forget to drink enough we eat enough but don't drink enough lol.

Good luck and hope everything goes well.

Hi, Elizabeth. Congratulations. This is my first posting here too. We have a few similarities...We are expecting twins around May 20, 2008 and I was recently diagnosed w/ hypothyroid. This is my first pregnancy, so I won't have much to contribute, but I do hope to learn a lot from everyone here. Take care & again Congratulations!
