Hi everyone! I am a mom of three boys- ages 5,6 and 7. DH and I unexpectedly became pregnant. We found out today that we are having twins! We are only 8 weeks along now. We are excited but extremely nervous about what to expect. Quite frankly- I'M SCARED TO DEATH!!! I'm reaching out for some support and advice. Thanks!

Hi! Welcome to TS! Congratulations on your twin pregnancy!

Our twin pregnancy was a bit of a surprise as well, and also #4 and #5 for us! I was scared too of how I would manage with 5 kids! I feel so lucky now! I love my large family. It is hard work, but so worth it!! I see you are also in FL, I am in Ft. Myers.

I encourage you to join our Big Sister program. We will match you with a mom of twins that will help answer some of your questions and guide you on your twin journey! Click on the link in my signature for more info!

    You can do this!!!!

This pregnancy was also unexpected for us. We have 3 children already and were 'done'. Scared to death is EXACTLY how I felt.

That is the miracle of having nearly around 7 more months to adjust ;)

Congrats on your little miracles and welcome to the boards!!!!

First of all congrats!!! I cried for a full week whenever I thought about it after finding out I was having twins. Then I would cry thinking it would be my fault if something happened to one of them (I still feel that way!) My mom put it into perspective for me. She said for whatever reason God chose me to have twins. He knew I could handle it and it's a true blessing. Even after her talk it took a until I got my second ultrasound of them to truely get excited about it. I saw them interacting together already and couldn't imagine not having both of them. Don't get me wrong, I'm still scared to death! I don't know how we are going to do it, financially and emotionally. The difference now is that I know I'm supposed to have these babies. You will figure it out.... it may take just letting things go. I truely believe that everyone that has twins was hand picked by God to have them, especially you since your pregnancy was not expected. I know you will be blessed. I have posted many times about how overwhelming my emotions get, and how hard it is for me to care for my 2 year old son. So when you get overwhelmed.... please vent. That's what we are here for! Congrats! I can't wait to meet your babies.

Congratulations and welcome to Twinstuff! I too think the one good thing about the length of pregnancy is it gives us some time to run the full spectrum of emotions.

Please check out our Expecting Roll Call thread and follow the appropriate links to share your due date and upcoming appointments and milestones.

I look forward to getting to know you!

:sign0016: to Twinstuff! Congrats on your twin pregnancy. I too was scared when we first found out we were having twins. I was even scared when I brought them home, but somehow you figure it all out. Actually I'm still figuring it out. But it is doable and you can do it. Your boys are older like my first DD and she is a big help at times, so hopefully they will be too.

I'm glad you found us. This is definitely the place to come for advice and support about twins. :)

Congrats and WELCOME! Good to have another preggo here...I agree with pp, I have always believed God doesn't give us more than we can handle. It takes a special person to be able to carry and care for twins, not everyone gets to expirence this..Im very excited about it. Scared, yes, but soo excited

Congratulations and welcome. Me and DH were in total shock when we found out it was twins. We now feel so blessed to be lucky enough to have them. I feel like God too gave them to me b/c he knows we can handle it. Also what is so funny is that we were trying for 2 years to get pregnant. We stopped trying and boom.......twins!!!!!!!!! I just kept praying for one baby and God blessed me with two. Also my DR said I could only have one more pregnancy but DH wanted two more babies. We both got what we wanted. You will love this website. I stay on here all the time. It occupies me when I am resting and relaxing and trying to take it easy and everyone on here is so informative and comforting.

Congratulations and Welcome. Fortunately you found this website early in your pregnancy. I didn't find it until after mine were born. You will find the support you need right here! Whatever you are going through, there is at least one person who has experienced it already. That includes any health problems or questions. Don't be afraid to ask. The people on this board are amazing! They will help you every step of the way. There is even a spot for DH to call his own!

    Best wishes!

Congratulations! I'm 14 weeks along and I am still getting used to the idea myself. I was in a panic for quite awhile after finding out. This was an unplanned pregnancy for me and I definitely never thought I would ever have twins. At my recent 12 week ultrasound where I saw the babies moving around for the first time, I actually started shaking all over because it was finally real for me...it scared me to death. Luckily, my DH is not a worrier and is constantly reminding me that everything will be fine. I've got my "big ultrasound" scheduled for July 11th when I'm 18 weeks...my goal is not to have another panic attack at the sight of them!

congrats! on your your twins, :clapping: i understand what you are going through these are my first children and they are twins. at the begining i felt like was going to lose it, but that passes the more you see them is more you know that you can handle it. god choose you to have twins and if he knew you could not handle it it would not have given you this task. :a_smil09: but you are ahead of the game you have had some pratice :a_smil09: so you are well on your way. if you ever need someone to talk to feel free to write me i think we are in the same boat. :D

I agree,. and don't worry if it takes quite a bit of time to be able to smile genuinely when people ask "aren't you SO excited?!" because it isn't their body that will be housing two for another 7 months. ;) the best advice i have is limit self-led internet research,. as for me it only popped up worse case scenarios and boggled my mind. this site is great,. and there are books that will help you prepare too. you will feel more adjusted to the idea with time,. congratulations!

First of all congrats on the twins!!!!!
I had twins my first pregnancy, they are 16 months old and imagine the shock i felt to find out i was expecting my second set of twins now. I found out at 6 weeks, and im telling ya so far this pregnancy has just taken forever...as now im only 12 weeks. Twins are truly a blessing though. I love being a twin mommy, and wouldnt trade it for the world. Its hard at first but once ya get your own swing with things it really becomes easier. Im a single mother, and dont really have alot of help around...but its not as hard as some make it to be i dont think . BUt then again i live by the golden rule, that its only as hard as you make it and god will never give ya anything you cant handle. Good luck with everything and hope to see ya around more!!

I also encourage you to sign up for the big sis program. Im a lil sis, and just volunteered to be a big sis. And i couldnt be happier with it. Its really a wonderful program!

Thanks so much for the support. I am so scared that I won't be able to do this. I guess it's still early and I have to get used to the idea. The big sister program sounds great! I have so many questions to ask- like how night time feedings work! I don't have help so it's going to be tough.
