I looked around and couldn't find an appropriate place to post this, so I guess this as good as any. :) Just wanted to say how excited I was to find a twins forum that looks active! I am currently 13 weeks pregnant with twins! I have 3 older kids and thought this would be a breeze, but it's been SO different, I feel like a rookie! lol

So my twins are due 6/4/11 and the pregnancy was a shock! Not as much as finding out there were two, of course! The older kids (ages 7, 5, and 21 months) are really so excited. :)

Can't wait to get to know the place a little better!

Wow, thanks everyone! I've tried a couple other places and didn't get this welcome/reply in days, much less minutes! It'll be so nice to talk to other moms that can understand me!

I've been browsing and checking things out - looks like a great place! :)

So cool. I have another u/s on the 17th of this month (I'll be 16 weeks) and the peri said I will be able to tell them what they are. I am really feeling like they are B/G.

My kids now are Aiden (7), Chloe (5), and Liam (21 months). My daughter has been telling everyone she's getting 2 sisters. I hope for her sake that she's getting at least one or we'll be buying her a girl hampster or something. LOL

I don't even know if the fact that I'm having twins has even sunk in yet! I mean I believe it and am totally planning for it, but it just seems so surreal. 4 months ago, I was talking to my husband about vasectomy and maybe adopting internationally in a few years. I do feel very blessed an excited though. :)

    Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Welcome and CONGRATULATIONS. I have kids about the same age gap as yours. So much fun. The big kids adore their babies. My DD wanted sisters and DS wanted brothers. They got brothers and it didn't matter one bit once they were holding them :D

    Hi Britany! Welcome to TS!

We have surprise babies as well. I don't think anything prepares you for finding about multiples.

Woohoo for girls! As a side note- they can't tell actually, that they are fraternal yet, unless you've done amnio. There is about a 30% chance they could be identical still. There are many of us here who've been told frats but they were born Id- myself included. ;)

Congrats on the twin girls! Wouldn't the twin girls make it 3 girls and 2 boys?? :)

Oh! I guess I didn't mention my 17 year old step-son! Sorry about that. lol Just goes to show how scatterbrained I've been - I NEVER forget to include him. :(

And that is very interesting about not telling they are frat. without amnio! I had no idea!

COngrats! Just and FYI, di/di's can still be identical

or if you did IVF with a 5 or 6 day transfer (cause one embryo splitting at 5+ days will result in a shared placenta). :babyflips: In other words, di/di identicals split before day 5 of embryonic development.
