Newbie on Board!

Hi everyone. I wanted to introduce myself to all of you.

My name is Charlotte (hence the Charly but I go by Charlotte, the Angel part is a play on the show title...) and I am a 33 year old married mother of 2 beautiful teenagers (not twins but only 16 months apart) aged 14 (son, Drake) and 15 (daughter, Katy). My husband Jim and I are awaiting the birth of B/G twins Aug 24, 2008! My exposure to twins is very limited as I only know one couple who have twins at all. We plan to name the babies Aidan James and Nadia Charlotte. The first names because of the fact that they are eachother backwards (we LOVED that idea since hearing they were a duet...) and the middle names are from myself and my husband. We thought that was a fitting nod to our parents who thought so much of those names to give them to us.

My husband and I were TTC for MANY MANY moons (7 years!!!) and were only successful after 5 Clomid cycles over 3 years. The magical cycle was the resignation cycle too... Go figure. We had made up our minds that if it didn't "work" this last time we were done and had our family. We suffered 3 early losses over the years, one on a Clomid cycle.

I work full time (for now) but was a SAHM Mom for 10 years as well so I may have some advice to offer to those topics as well.


I am a Fertility Friend graduate but was not a participant on the boards there after the first year or so. I kept my charts but migrated to a TTC board much like this one instead. I liked the closer feel of a peer group instead of the flighty nature of the FF boards. Too many people come and go... When I was there (and on other TTC boards) I went by the handle "Wanna3rd" which now is a huge misnomer since I'm getting #s 3 and 4! LOL With so many years of TTC in the bag and a lot of medical research behind me I may be able to help in that aspect as well. I hope to be a useful, productive member of a nice Twins Group. I also hope to learn new things about twin parenting since I have NO experience in that field! LOL

On a personal note, I'm a HUGE Red Sox fan. I also have a HUGE sense of humor and can find the funny in just about anything.

So that's me in a nut shell. Anyone who would like to know more, only needs ask. I'm a pretty open person who doesn't mind the TMI.

Welcome Charlotte. The names that you have chosen are great! Sounds like you have been through a lot. Congratulations on the expected arrival of your twins. I hope that you have a wonderful pregnancy.

Like you, we finally conceived on our final attempt with Clomid. I actually didn't think we had conceived in that last round as my temperature spike was a little delayed. I took a test on a whim after Thanksgiving, not expecting to see anything. It immediately turned positive! We were in complete shock :-0

We were still very surprised when we found out it was twins, even after being on the highest dose of Clomid.

Like you, we are expecting a boy and girl...but, unlike you, I am a first-time mom who is a little freaked out about the idea of having two babies at once

So, welcome!! I know you'll find a wealth of information and support here!

I am missing the whole ring ceremony to be here at work. Can't tell if I'm working hardly or hardly working at the moment though...
I'm actually going to the game on Thursday and I can't wait either. This will be my only game this season as I fear I will be too big to fit in the seat after too much longer.

Hello Charlotte! Welcome to TS! I love this site. I love venting and hearing everyone side of what they are going through. Good-luck with this pregnacy and take care of yourself!! Twins is a little more serious with the high risk
and all. So rest as much as you can. But it's fun once you start really feeling them kick!! Your stomach is like a
