Newbie - 9 weeks/Baby Shower

Hi -

I am a newbie, just found out about the babies a few days ago and have not gotten off the internet since! The last time I was pregnant was 10 years ago and that was a singleton. I am currently 9 weeks, but the babies are measuring a little small - I assume that it is normal because their are 2.

What a great sight this is - I had so many questions I could almost feel my blood pressure go up just thinking of all of them. I find being a "hooverer" relaxes me when I can read what others are going through. Quite the rare breed we are

I would like to ask your opinion - seems like their are lots around here and I think that's great. My friends and family are spread all over the country with too few in any one area to have an actual shower. What does one do in this case? My sister in law has already volunteered to handle it - but I thin a shower with 5 people is slightly silly

I would still have the shower - send invitations to the ladies that live far away. They may always ship gifts. You're going to need all the gear and essentials you can get.

I'm having a couple small showers - I think they're great. It's a nice way to actually sit and talk to the ladies that come to it.

I would invite everyone you want to, even if far away. When you register, do it somewhere that it can also be accessed online...such as Babies R Us, for those not the area.

I just wanted to say welcome…
It was 10 years ago for me as well when I had my last pregnancy… 10 years to the day… the twins have the same due date as my son did….

Welcome from a fellow Bluegrass state Mom! As far as the shower, I would have a little tea party with the few people who were near and dear to me and then I would make a little video for all my family and friends as if you were including them in the party. I would also try and keep a belly picture journal so everyone who may not get to see your growing belly can watch you progress. Keep us posted and I hope your have a great journey to meet your babies!
