I spent 12/31/05 on the high risk unit at my hospital, magged out of my mind and scared (I was admitted on 12/27 at 27 weeks). Tonight I'm home with sick babies, but they are normal childhood illnesses. I just wanted to wish you ladies a happy new year, and many many gestational weeks ahead. I remember a conversation I had one day there with the chief of maternal-fetal medicine and he told me "You ladies on this unit have the hardest job in the hospital." And he's so right. Wherever you are - home or the hospital, you are doing the hardest job a mommy can ever do. Hang in there, and may you all have health babies in 2008!

Thanks for your warm wishes and thoughts! It is hard work, growing two babies:) I am trying to stay positive and think of it as a blessing...how often will I get to lay around all day once these babies are here??? NEVER!
Happy New Year! I hope your babies feel better soon!

Thank you for the wishes and thoughts. It is nice to hear someone acknowledge that "laying around all day" is harder than most people think. It gets very hard listening to people say "It must be nice to just lay on the couch all day" or "I wish I could just lay around" etc. I hope your children get better soon- and best wishes to you as well!

Happy new year from me too! Hang in there ladies, you can do this and you'll be so happy that you did in the end. Two years ago I spent the holidays on bedrest, a total of 15 weeks in all.

Now my 21 month old twin girls are terrorizing the house with all their new Christmas stuff and I'm loving it.

Thanks for the well wishes. I got barfed on again tonight, so maybe send a few more. ;)

It's really funny how many people think bedrest is a nice relaxing time. Idiots. As if anyone would choose to be immobilized for weeks on end, isolated from friends, family, and the excitement that's supposed to surround your late 2nd and 3rd trimester. Ugh. I remember it used to piss me off when my husband would say that I sure was a good bedrester, following the rules, because it made it sound like he thought I was being lazy (before I was admitted to the hospital, this is). Grr. Building two people is hard work, especially when your body starts fighting to get them out.

I will admit there have been times recently I wouldn't mind being put on a little bedrest...but that's entirely different. ;)

I am a few weeks late on this, but wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year and best "bedrest wishes," too! I was you this time last year - like ppt said...magged out of my mind and totally uncomfortable! Hang in there, ladies...you are doing an amazing thing! :clapping:
