I'm more concerned about our girls' "colourful" language...picked up from their daddy. Have decided that the best response is just to pretend to ignore his traffic jam language, as though it's way too boring to get excited about! It's only a matter of time before something pops out in front of (retired church minister) Grandpa! [IMG]

Matthew has learned to stay "stop". Correction: it's more like a yelled "stoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooop". I guess I say that way too much [IMG]

I didn't teach them this, but they picked it up from their cousins..."MINE!!!" I cringe when they shout this out, especially at me.

Jennifer, I may be daft, but is "mowah" more or Meredith?

I didn't teach them, but one of the few words they say is "Dat" (that). All day long, it's "dat, dat, DAT!" They point to everything and say "dat", wanting us to name it for them. Bea will do it over and over again, even silly things like the wall, the floor.

Here it's "WHAT'S THAT?!" loudly and obnoxiously (I didn't teach them the loud and obnoxious part). They say it over and over again until I respond. Last week it was just Melissa, but this week it's both of them. The joys of twin toddlers.

Sit. I am always telling the girls to sit down when they climb up on furniture. They say it all the time now, but it comes out sounding like sh*t!!! My mother even told me I need to watch my language around the girls [IMG], but I expained what they were saying.

It is more. She usually says it with her arms stretched out because we keep the snacks up high.

Sometimes it is funny...but it can get quite annoying.

First I have to tell you why my girls learned the word. I went to see my sister and her twins in the hospital yesterday. I left my daughters at my brothers house he has a 3 year old boy and they play well together most days. The girls followed him(my nephew) into the bathroom and he stood up to go PP. My girls started giggling and pointed at him. Then they came up to me and asked me what was that and why did he stand up to pee. I told them it was a penis and thats how boys go potty. So today off and on I have heard the girls tell each other " Parker has a pnut" and start giggling. Its funny but I would be so embarrased if they had mentioned it when we went shopping today.

Mine is a phrase. The last 6 months or so the girls have started whining to me when their sister makes any sort of negative comment or interruption in something they are doing. So, I told them, don't pay attention to your sister and just do what you want. Well, now I keep hearing "we need to do what we want!" when I tell them not to do something they aren't supposed to be doing. [IMG]

When my girls were younger, they used to say fork and it sounded like the "f" work. Try explaining THAT one when you're out in public!!

Also when they were about 2 they used to say "I la lu" for I love you.

As much as I couldn't wait for them to say it, I would have to say "mom". Lane says it ALL the time, mom, mom, mom, mom... Then I say "what", he says "tree" and points out the window at the tree, and I say "yes that is a tree", then mom, mom, mom, mom.... I say "what", he says, "car" as he holds up his toy car, and I say "yes that is a car", and this goes on and on and on all day.

Ugg...we went through that phase with Ryan. Everything was "that". Our current favorite word is "No". It drives me nuts.

Megan says "ya" instead of "you". It is very deliberate when she says things like "I love ya", or "I'm helping ya". I hate it, but I also do it so I can't blame her [IMG]. The other is her always referring to me and DH as "guys". which again, is how I address them when I'm speaking to both at once. That one drives DH up the wall!

Brendon call buzz lightyear bud light. So he goes around saying I can't find my bud light. Or when we are in the toy department at the store and he see one, he will scream bud light. Oh the looks you get.

Rachel can say Hot. but not Hat. it comes out 'Sat.' I think it's b/c we say, Where's your hat? No that's Lexi's Hat? and she hears "lexi sat." So every time she points to a Hat and says Sat, it drives me nuts. also drives me nuts that she says MEEEOOOWWWWWWW over and over again until she can find her little TY beany kitty. it's long and drawn out and almost whiney. sounds just like a sad kitty.

I never should have taught my daughter to say "Mommie". Every time she has a tantrum, which is several times a day, all I hear is "Mmmooommmiiieee!!!" over and over again in a crying whine as she follows me around the house. Now it is too late to change my name.

Right now they are into that, that. Kaylee also says doooooooo. She is also into doing eeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhh, screaming it when she wants something. Typically it is a cheetoh, but she is not getting them for breakfast. This drives me crazy. I am trying to encourage them to say please or more, but I am not getting through to them.

[IMG] Thanx for all the laughs, ladies!

Altho I can't think of any particular word or phrase at the moment, these last few months have really been a mirror into my own talking [IMG] J repeats everything he hears, and luckily (so far) he's been pretty good about doing the 'right' thing and not being too defiant (fingers crossed). It's so cute to hear him say "I am being TOO bossy" or "H, Christmas is OVER" or "No, we're not going to take a bath right now. We're going to eat and go upstairs for a nap."

We do have a 'mmmmeeeeeoooooowwwwwing' tendency lately that's a bit annoying. And, Becca, it's good that they are only giggling about another's 'pnut'.....we went thru a big phase of the 'p' talk and I cringed waiting to hear "I have a p-" or something even more embarrassing in a public setting. So far, so good...just at home.

I'm sure that I'll be back another day asking for the ear plugs, but so far it's all exciting. Guess that's one benefit of having late talkers!

    Happy momming,

This is hilarious to me, because I hear the same thing all day long from Matthew, but it's "Ma" instead of "mom".

Another one that gets me is "sit" all the time, but it's sounds like "sh@t" and after all the Christmas hoopla, now they are saying present, but for some reason it comes out like "bullsh@t"...it's hard to explain that one to people.

We just got over a series of digestive bugs, and we walk into the Y after a 2-week absence. Mari stands in the middle of the entryway and yells, "HIIIII! WE'RE BACK!!!!!! WE HAD DIARRHEA!!!!!!!!!!!!"

    Yeah. Awesome.

OVAL, or owbal as he says it and stars. My DS thinks everything round is an oval and all things with points are stars.

Although, it is a little handy to startt the bedtime routine. We ask if he wants to find the ovals...then we go up and read a book as he sees "owbals" in every picture and round letter.

Skylar learned how to say "DOT" and that is all that I hear come out of her mouth. I hope she learns a new one real soon.

"Woah" is Jazzy's. She gets the meaning too. Aunt Yea-Yea(my lil sis Whitnei) was carring Jazz and Jazz was slipping so she was going "woah, woah, woah" everytime she slipped. [IMG] She tells the ball to woah when is rolling away too. "Woah Ball!"

Jessy's is more a sign than a word she signs down all the time now.
