I posted last week about Nevan stepping. He's only done it a few more times but he wound up chipping his front tooth so I have been sitting him down if I can't sit right behind him. This weekend he was knocked down a few times so he's just pulling up but hanging on very tightly. Norah pulled up a few weeks ago but has not really pulled up with the same tenacity as Nevan, until today. My problem is they both want me to hold onto them so they can stand up. They hate the exersaucer now and only want me to hold them up. It's not a problem except when both want to be up at the same time!

How do you help both your cruisers at the same time? Has anyone used those angel wings to help them walk? My back is killing me as I am staying hunched over to help them stand!

I have the same worries as you! I can't wait to read the responses!

I would work with one, then the other... sometimes you just have to let one fuss.

I'd almost forgotten about that stage... The good news is that (for us at least) it was short. Mine pulled up later than yours (it was more like 8-9 months), but then it only took a few weeks before they stopped falling over ALL the time. Then they were happy to pull up and cruise along the furniture.

I did have a few pileups during those few weeks, though -- when I'd be holding them both up, then one would fall, and I'd have to let go of the second to catch the first, and then they'd both fall! All I can say is hang in there. And don't be afraid to put them somewhere safe and let them fuss if you just have to go to the bathroom or something!

Well, this is something fresh in my mind. It was just about a month ago I went through the same exact thing. It was really tough because yes, they both are excited to be walking but want it at the same time. As pp said, you just have to kind of let one fuss while you take the one for a cruise around the house. I would walk with one then sit them down and then do the other. They would cry and scream when I would stop but it's part of learning to wait and take turns. Often they would quickly get into something else while I was walking the other. As for the back, my friend lent me her wings thing. I only wish I had gotten it from her sooner because by then, my girls didn't really care for that thing around them but it was really cool. It took all the pressure off my back and they learn to walk with their arms not above their head.

Mommy can't be everywhere so the girls got a lesson in taking turns. ;) It really was a pain in the back and Paul just mentioned a couple of days ago that he hopes Dax doesn't go through that stage (good luck ) and, if he does, he wants to get those angel wings you were talking about.

Thanks for the tips.. I created a baby safe zone (foam mats and pull up toys.) I'm going to BRU this week for the wings!
