New update

THis is from after the updates that Heather posted yesterday - thank you by the way heather for keeping everyone informed! I cant exactly get to a computer all the time.

Okay, well such great news yesterday but then we hit a wall. After the last update, we waited for 3 hours to hear the next. It got a little rocky for us. Peyton was doing great in the OR and they were ready to close him up and get him up into recovery when they put an echo down to check one last time for anything. It was then that they decided that he was going to have to be put on something called ECMO (like a small bypass machine). This machine will do the work of his heart while his heart is gaining strength. Basically, his heart was like "you want me to do what?" whent hey corrected it and kinda went into a state of "no way". His left ventrical didnt want to do it's job. So.....anyways, we're playing a waiting game now - he's heavily sedated and on a vent as well. Though he can hear us, he's completely paralyzed right now and on all kinds of pain meds. So....i'll write more about everyting later. Thoughts and prayers please...this kiddo needs them although he's doing great looking at all his stats.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, I know what it is like to wait for updates and get not such great news about your child. My DS had open heart surgery at 6 days old and he is now a healthy happy 2 year old.

I'm so sorry about the recent turn of events. I'm praying for you and your family at this time.

 

Somehow I didn't see this yesterday... I'm glad the surgery went reasonably well...I hope that his little heart can take over soon and that he gets stronger every minute.
