New to Twins...

Hi!!
I'm Jen, and I found out a couple of weeks ago that we're having twins. First reaction, was I threw up because I couldn't believe it. After I little bit, it's finally started to truely sink in. I'm 11wks 2 days along, my next appt is July 5th, with MFM(peri). My ob has referred me to them for a couple of reasons. I was going to be seeing them for awhile wthout twins because I need a cerclage, but now all my care has been transferred there because they believe I'm carried Mo-Mo twins. I'm exceptionaly scared but at the same time resoundly calm about everything.

Quick little history on me. I'm 31 and DH (Bill) is 34. We have two living children a DD 11 and a DS 6.5. We've also had to losses, DS Maxim born at 19 wks and DS Quinn born at 22 wks. Nothing 100% on why, it just happened, they were suppose to be our last pregnancies. I was suppose to have my tubes tied in Feb of this year, but I fell and had to have reconstructive surgery on foot. So my tubal got delayed and the rest is history :winking0009:

I can't wait to get to know everyone here, I've got tons of questions...

Hi Jen. Welcome to Twinstuff!!! I'm glad you found us. I think you will find a lot of support here throughout your pregnancy. I'm sorry for your previous losses.

My dh was supposed to get a V last summer and put it off and now we are pg with twins..lol Its amazing how God works sometimes...

As far as not being able to have your tubes tied that goes to show you things happen for a reason. :angel: Just relax and enjoy your pregnancy with your double blessing!

I am sorry to hear about your loses.

I think it is quite common to not be able to see the membrane between the babies at 11 weeks but then at the next check up the membrane is able to be seen. I think I would probably wait until after they try again to see a membrane (there are many many false alarms in the early stages) but there is a great website full of information for momo twins, www.monoamniotic.org. It is a wealth of information but like I said, I would probably confirm there is no membrane first.
