New to this board.

I have been meaning to jump over here and introduce myself but as you all understand I am sure.. its been crazy around here.

I am Mel.. I had my girls on June 25th at 33 weeks due to pre-eclampsia. After 5 weeks in the NICU we finally have our girls home. Its been a challenge to say the least. I am trying to bf'd them and its not going as smoothly as I had hoped but I think that will work itself out in time.

Sophia Grace was 3 lbs 14 oz at birth..and is now 6 lbs 5 oz
Danielle Joy was 3 lbs 4 oz at birth and is now 5 lbs 6 oz.

Congrats on the birth of your babies and welcome to the FY forum. Yes I can agree it is very hard when you get them home. Just take it one day at a time and take lots of pictures b/c they grow very fast.

Also check out the breastfeeding forum. They can be a lot of help with trying to BF twins.

Welcome to the FY board!!! congrats on your girls and having them home! It took me about 6-8 weeks to work out breastfeeding - I had three cases of Mastitis and 3 cases of yeast in the breast. I was going to quit all three times but stuck with it and I am glad I did. Just keep working on it and you will be thankful that you did! Hope it gets better!

Hi Mel and :sign0016: to the crazy First Year. I had pre-e too and my boys were born at 31 weeks 6 days. They are doing great. Keep us posted on their progress when you can. Feel free to visit the Breastfeeding Forum for support! The ladies on their are awesome!!

I can't strongly encourage enough for you to get every visitor to take a picture of you with each of your babies and one with both babies. And a family photo but the mommy and baby photos first. this time will blurr by and you will have a ton of pictures of the babies (hopefully) and not enough of you with them. get early professional ones too even if you get someone come to the house. (best idea).
