Hi everyone! I'm new to this site - I found it because I googling for information of women who had experiences with a severely funneling cervix and it looked like there was good information here so I decided to join.

I am 27w1d pregnant with twin boys and I have a 3.5 year old daughter at home.

At my MFM appointment at 21 weeks I was diagnosed with a funneling cervix - at that time it was 1.0. One week later I was down to 0.9 and two weeks after that I was down to 0.6. At my last appointment this past Wednesday I was down to 0.3. I am totally freaking out!!!

I am at home on bedrest - I have a terb pump and am on procardia. I just finished a round of Indocin for excessive fluid. I have a monitor I use at home to monitor contractions - and I do that twicce a day for an hour each time.

My bedrest should be more strict than it is - especially with a 3.5 year old! My DH tries, but doesn't get it - and the family I have close by have very busy lives and try their best - but I do more than I probably should be doing.

I just wanted to intorduce myself, say hello, and will read more to see some success stories on people with a nearly there cervix! I have a great fear of my babies born this early!

Hi! Welcome to TS and Congratulations on your twin pregnancy!! Glad that you found us!

I was admitted to the hospital on bedrest at 24 weeks for a funneling, dilation, PTL, and a positive fFN. Bedrest is so hard, but you are doing an amazing thing for your babies. Everyday you can keep those babies in your tummy is 3 days they don't have to be in the NICU. I was able to make it to 28 weeks 1day. My girls are now 13 months and perfectly healthy.

Is there anyone else that can help you with your 3 1/2 year old? I can't stress enough how important it is that you take it easy and put yourself on the strictest of strict bedrest. Don't be afraid to ask for help, or even hire some if that is an option. Maybe you should even talk to your Dr about admitting you the hospital if you think that would help.

Good Luck and Take it easy!!

I can totally relate to your story. I haven't had my cervix checked since October 29 but I am getting it checked again tomorrow. At my last ultrasound it was a 1.8 so I was put on immediate bedrest and Procardia. I have a 2.5 year old daughter so I know how hard it is to do the bedrest thing with a little one at home. My husband like yours doesn't get it! He asked me today if I could at least help out by going through our daughter's closet and drawers and taking out the clothes she has out-grown. Of course it was easier to do it than to explain to him/argue with him about why I couldn't do it! So I like you have been doing way too much considering we are on bedrest. I am anxious to see how my cervix looks on the ultrasound tomorrow. As of Thursday, my doctor said she hopes I can make it to week 34 but will be happy with me making it to week 32. Good luck with your situation! I will keep you posted about how my appointment turns out tomorrow.

Im on bedrest with a 3 yr and a 17 mo. Don't always have the help either. I know sometimes I feel like I have to choose between my kids and the twins I am caring. And like you I do way to much, but if I don't who will? The kids still need to eat, they need clean clothes and a clean house. I know it's tough, but we do our bests. Hang in there, take it one day at a time. You'll get more creative about how to get stuff done without hurting you or babies. Remember though, if it's not life or death, don't worry. You can clean out closets and dressers in a few months when you have a house full of healthy babies.

And glad you found this, I don't know what I would do without some of the ladies here. They are so good for help with information and just good support!

I was put on hospital bedrest at 22wks for a short cervix. I was on very strict bed rest. (The first several weeks I was only out of bed if I had to have a BM, otherwise I was in bed. That meant that I had to use a bed pan and have sponge baths. It wasn't fun, but it was necessary.)
I urge you to follow the bed rest guidelines to the very best you can. The longer those babies stay in, the better. It's not easy, but it can be done.

 Hang in there! You can do it!
