Hi i'm Jamey and my husband and I have been TTC for 2 years and have had several failed attempts. Finally on our last attempt we are pregnant, 6 weeks and 2 days........we went for an u/s on friday and found out it's twins. My husband is in total shock, he keeps telling me there's two babies coming, omg. It was a surprise to both of us as we were happy concieving just one. I was elated to see both baby a and baby B have a fetal heart beat and they are the same size. i have been overwhelmed with feelings os anxiety of something happening. I haven't had any bleeding and everyone around me thinks i'm nuts. I have just been wanting this for so long and am so scared that something might happen. Any advice on the worrying? Thanks and i look forward to getting to know all of you. I've read a few of the post on here and feel a bit reassured.

I want to tell you congrats on your pregnancy! I know exactly how you feel!!!! It took dh and I 4 years to conceive and 4 attempts at IVF(2 fresh, 2 frozen). We found out we were pregnant on Feb 21 and found out it was twins on March 12(3 days after my bday). I'm now just over 12 weeks-and I will be honest-the worrying never stops! They say that's what motherhood is all about! I worried for every u/s....worried because I didn't feel pregnant(and still don't!). But once you get a little further along-it gets better. We had an u/s at 11 weeks 4 days and since then I've been a bit better....But no m/s here! I think that would have helped me a little bit! :FIFblush: Congratulations again!!!

Congrats and welcome to the board.

My only advice is that Google is not your friend. Do not use it to find things out unless something comes up at an appointment. Otherwise, you will be worrying all the time.

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your babies! I just wanted to let you know that you will worry no matter what, but just keep looking forward to your milestones. Even at 32 weeks along I am still worried that I don't feel enough movement, or something will happen to them when I deliver....but I have to just wait and see. I am aweful for always thinking the worst, but usually everything ends up good. Nothing I can do really, just try to take care of myself by eating healthier (not always), and getting lots of sleep (sometimes impossible).
You will probably go through the most emotional time of your life, but we are all here for you! This site is great support!

Keep growing,

Juli

Heather said it perfectly! :)

Congratulations on your babies! Welcome to TS!

The only thing I wanted to add, is to try not to worry about the things that you cannot control. Work on the things that you can...get plenty of water, plenty to drink, and plenty of rest!

:sign0016: You will find this site so helpful. I know exactly how you feel, and I wish I had some advice about worrying but it is such a natural part of a twin pregnancy. It sounds like this has been a long time coming for you so try and trust that everything will be ok. It's good that you already saw the heartbeats and both babies are the same size. Good Luck, can't wait to get to know you. :D

OHHH, that feeling of finally being pregnant after all that trying, is the greatest feeling in the world (ttc 10 years< conceived with IVF) Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess you will worry no matter what, but like the previous post said, GOOGLE is not your friend LOL. Best wishes, this is a great site, with lots of great advice, I don't know what I would have done without it. :sign0016:

YEAH!!! Congrats on not only getting pregnant.... but having two babies!!!! I'm so excited for you. I never had any trouble getting pregnant (although I was told I only have a 28% chance of getting pregnant on my own.) I did however have a miscarriage prior to this pregnancy. I was scared to death and wouldn't allow myself to get attached to this pregnancy until after 13 weeks. Then when I went in for my 16 week anatomy scan.... I got a HUGE shock.... two babies!!!! For me I'm glad I didn't find out early. My only little tip is drink a ton of water. I would stay so tired during the first tri.... but water made a HUGE difference in how I felt. So if you are having a slightly yucky day... grab some water and see if it helps.

A pp said that you can really ask anything here.... I just wanted you to know that you really can! I asked a very personal (and gross) question this weekend and got huge support. The amazing thing is that it's normal! So I feel so much better now. Please ask anything and don't be embarrassed to ask. The people here are wonderful and a great support.

Again congrats!

Congratulations and welcome to Twinstuff! I agree that worrying is normal and unfortunately we can always find something to worry about it. Just make sure to not let it consume you as pregnancy is such an exciting time and although while experiencing it can seem long but it really does go by fast! I also agree not to worry about things out of your control, concentrate on the things you can and the others will fall into place.

Please be sure to check out the Expecting Roll Call thread so you can add your due date and upcoming appointments and milestones!

I look forward to getting to know you!

Congrats and welcome!! It took me 4 years to get pg with the girls. It was ovulation induction for me. The worrying never stops. I am 21wks right now. The worries change as you go on. Mine of coarse started with the worry of miscarriage. Then that went away. Then it went to every little cramp and twinge I felt worried me, along with having a few infections. Now, my fear is something happening before these girls get a chance to survive outside of the womb. I am hoping that some of that anxiety will go when I hit 24wks. It is weird b/c when I was pg with DD (no fertility treatment), I didn't worry about a thing. Totally different this time.

However, I feel so blessed to have them. I am thankful for each day that goes by and I feel their little kicks inside of my belly :p

Another thing, do not research anything. That was my biggest problem in the beginning. Bad, bad idea...makes you worry even more.

Welcome!!

Congratulations... Let me just help you feel better... I'm normally miss fertile myrtile... my first was conceived 2 weeks off bcp...my twins were conceived our first month trying.... my third pg has been a little rougher thus far than my first two.. I've had some bleeding so far (real bleeding...not just spotting..clots, bright red, cramping, the works) ... and although my first two pg were so incredibly routine, now that I've had just a little bit of trouble I'm worrying a lot more... I think anytime you've faced infertility or difficulty in pg you start to get parinoid that things aren't going to work out. Even after getting a good u/s with positive hb I'm still not feeling secure in this pg... I think your reaction is normal. The only thing that I have found to help is just distraction...try to forget for a few hours at a time that you are pg. Obviously take the precautions that you need to take, but distract yourself by picking up a hobby or reading non-pg related things.... so that your thoughts are consumed with it 24-7.... there is so little that we have control over sometimes it helps just not to think about all the uncertainties....

Congrats on your twins! Your are totally "normal" to worry. I had 2 early losses between Kiah and Anne Elise; after that it makes it impossible not to worry! But since you've seen 2 healthy heartbeats, chances are VERY slim that anything will go wrong.

I wish you the best and look forward to getting to know you.

:hi:
Congratulations on your twin pregnancy! The worry never stops, but you just have to concentrate on making the milestones, that's what kept me sane...oh and I rented a doppler so I could check heartbeats when I would get nervous (but that was after 12 weeks). Just take it easy, take your vitamins, I'm surprised morning sickness hasn't set in...if it does! I had weekly u/s at the fertility clinic until I was 11 weeks and released to my own OB. It's gonna be great. I suggest getting books on twins. I can't remember the name of the one I Had, but it had great advice on eating and answered lots of questions. I suggested to another post into looking to a Marvelous Multiples class. http://www.marvelousmultiples.com/parents.html

:friends: Welcome, I hope you like it here!

Congratulations and :sign0016: to TS. You will get a ton of great advice here as well as wonderful support. I can relate to feeling nervous about something happening, we tried for 3 years before conceiving our first set and I was a nervous wreck the entire 9 months. About the only thing I can say is welcome to motherhood ;)

Congratulation! :a_smil09:
We tried to concieve for nearly 3 years and I was so frustrated I decided to stop taking fertility drugs after December cycle. We found out we were pregnant on New Years Day! 'm at about 20 weeks now and I don't know if the worrying will stop anytime soon. We were so excited that I just felt anxious about having to start all over again if something happened. I'm starting to relax and just enjoy the unique experience of pregnancy. Although I'm finding new fears like crazy drivers on the road. I try to remind myself each day . . . Take each day in stride and be thankful that you have been given the opportunity to worry about YOUR little bundles of joy instead of if you will ever get to experience motherhood. :hug99:

Congratulations Jamey and welcome to TS!

It's perfectly natural to worry. I actually had the worry worse with my singleton pregnancy than with my twin pregnancy. The good thing about twins is you get watched so closely that you have so many confirmations of the babies' well being. I'm sure you'll start feeling a little better after the first trimester is over. :)
