    Hi everyone,
I am new to this site, but VERY excited to have found it. I am due with twins, fraternal, in mid July, unless they come earlier. I am 34 years old and this is my second pregnancy and I was 30 pounds overweight when I conceived. Had my first daughter two years ago at age 32, with no complications other than she was a few weeks early. We were trying for another one, and ended up with twins! I am VERY nervous about labor and delivery with twins. My daughter delivered naturally, with no complications. I have read that with twins, you are much more prone to complications and bleeding, and have a 50% chance of C-section! I am so upset. I am a worrier by nature, but this has put me over the top. I am just so nervous something will go wrong in the delivery room. (I know morbid thoughts are bad during pregnancy....LOL) I should just stay off the internet first of all.... I know my chances are high that even with a c section, things will be ok. I guess I just was wondering if anyone could share their experiences either with L&D or for those that are still pregnant, what complications have you encountered? Was age or weight a factor? Thanks for listening to my rant! Just still absorbing this whole TWIN thing!.

Congrats on your twins! The sticky about C-sections really helped me a lot. I'm 30 weeks with (probably) fraternal girls. I was really freaked out when we found out at 7 weeks. It scared me a lot! Things get better! My doctor had twins and delivered both vaginally. It's possible! Read what you can, but remember that lots of people share horror stories instead of the good ones.

    Congratulations on expecting twins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although i remember how terrified i was when i found out it was twins, i already have 2 young boys and we were trying for a 3rd. The first scan showed only one baby, tenish weeks later another scan shows 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know exactly how you feel, but believe me when i say this feeling will only last a few weeks. You will soon be getting so excited!!! I mean, we are getting double helping of blessings here!!!! Everything will be fine, you will be fine and there is no reason to panic about the delivery, you don't necessarily have to have a c-section.
You have come to the right place, i love this site and it has brought me from terrified to absolutely excited, i cannot wait to have my babies!!! :D :D :D

Congrats on the twins! I know how u feel and pp posters are right when they say the shock wears off and u get really excited. I was terrified and beyond shocked when I found out at 7 weeks especially since twins have never shown up in my family. Keep cookin those babies girl, you'll do great!

    :wavey: and :welcome: Molly,

Congratulations.... i too was scared about a c section w/ my twins because i had a bad experience w/ my singleton c section... but looking back... i think it was more scared of the unknown... NOT the c section... and it was emergency... “got to get him out in min” kind of thing... as my c section w/ my twins... piece of cake and i only took Tylenol for the pain after...
Also i gained more w/ my singleton, it took me longer to lose w/ my singleton (and i was only 23 w/ my singleton)... so dont be scared just because of L&D because of the twin factor... my twin experience was better than my singleton (I was bedridden w/ my singleton... only here and there w/ the twins) I held the twins in longer... and they were sttn at 10w... older DS 9m... and I was told by DH last night…that he thinks I look better now than when he meet me at 19…

Good luck... look forward to getting to know you...

Congratulations on your twins, how far along are you? I am also nervous about a c/s. I think because I had my son vaginally and I am afraid of the unknown and the pain. So far I havent had a single complication(knock on wood!). Hang in there the excitement will come. I found out at 5 weeks and wasnt really convinced until i was about 18 weeks. Now I am over the moon!
