new napping issues?

since christmas the LO's have had a cold. now they wont sleep on their own unless they are rocked. i am not sure if it's because they were used to this for a week during vacation or bc they were sick.

is this temporary? is all my hard work down the tubes? am i going to have to 're-do' my mini CIO session for napitmes?
i've been rocking them for a few days bc otherwise they wont sleep.

 

There's a chance that they did get used to it if you did it for any length of time over christmas. But I know when my kids get sick, they are much more clingy and need me more during sleep times than they normally do.

If once their colds clear up, they are still not wanting to go to sleep on their own, you may have to do another CIO to get them back into their routine. But I wouldn't do it until they are feeling better.

same thing happened to my girls....they were both sick with colds and needed to be rocked during naps, and SEVERAL times a night....we did it for a week because they were sick...now they are better....but still needing to be rocked in the middle of the night quite often!
