HI! MY NAME IS MEGAN. I AM A MOTHER OF 3 WEEK OLD TWIN GIRLS. ONE OF MY TWINS IS EATING 3 TO 4 OZ. EVERY THREE HOURS, CRYING A LOT AND SEEMS WAY MORE ADVANCED THAN THE OTHER. THE SECONG TWIN EATS MUCH LESS (2 TO 3OZ EVERY THREE HOURS) AND HARDLY EVER CRIES. SHE SLEEPS MUCH MORE AND DOESNT SEEM AS CAUGHT UP. SHE ALSO SPITS UP A LOT MORE AFTER FEEDINGS. IS THIS NORMAL? THEY ARE SO OPPOSITE. I AM WORRIED THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG.

Hi Megan, :sign0016: to TS! Both babies sound normal to me! It is so hard not to compare when they are both right there! As far as the spit up goes...is she fussy with it? You may want to mention it to your ped. Some babies need meds for reflux.

    Congrats on your girls!
It is perfectly normal for them to have opposite personalities-my boys did from the day they born, and still do.

Don't worry. You'll find that they are different even though they are twins. Mine have never eaten the same amount. And they didn't eat as much as yours until they were 3+ months. My DD spit up a lot for months and months. She was on meds for reflux. You may want to keep track of your DD's actions during and after feedings. Best of luck to you!

Congratulations! About your baby that cries a lot...is it during a feeding, after a feeding, does she seem to be in pain. My boys were diagnosed with reflux at 8 weeks. It could have been sooner but I thought they were colicky but then the crying and arching of the back got really bad so I talked to our ped. about it.

Are you BF or FF we tried to give the boys meds for acid reflux but meds didn't help the problem was the formula---we went through 5 and found GoodStart it works wonders we noticed a difference in them with in 2 hours----but if you are BF watch whatyou are eating it could upset their tummys

first congrtas on the twins. well my boys are almost a year old and they are complete opposites. they are like night and day. i accually prefer for them to be different . so that is completly normal, just b/c theire twins doesnt mean they are going to do eveything the same espically personality wise. they are seprate children so they will ALWAYS be 2 differnt people lol. as for the baby being fussy like other people said u may want to tlk to the pedi. caleb was also like that and he had reflux. theire are medications they make for reflux. but in the mean time if thats what is it try to keep the baby elevated that seemed to help caleb alot. also i got mycalon and it worked wonders! well good luck and once again welcome to ts u will love it here. kepp us posted!

    Hi Megan,

Congratulations on your babies - everything you are describing sounds totally normal. They are different people with different traits and different needs. It's so so hard not to compare them, I still have to remind myself of that constantly. But at first it's especially hard because you're still just trying to get to know them and they are so new and little and seem so fragile.

I don't have much advise re the fussiness other that you should try what you can and in the end, remind yourself, it will get better. I never did find a solution that worked all the time, but eventually my girl grew out of it.

One was fussy, the other never was.

Hang in there, you're doing a great job!

I wouldnt worry too much either. It may just be that their personalties are different .Keep an eye on her after feedings and see what she is like it could be reflux. My 2 are totally different too. Jack started eating solids about 1 1/2 months before Sophie did and even now he eats a lot more. He is a lot more content than Sophie too. x

I have a son and a daughter and experienced the same concerns as you. Even to this day... sometimes one seems more advanced than the other and of course you panic. And esp with boys/girls they will develop differently. It's just hard to think of them as individuals because they are twins. I am sure you are doing fine. If you have any concerns, call your pediatrician. :) congrats!
