OK, I finally have this twin thing down well enough to write my birth story. I hope it’s not too late to share with you all!

My darling boys were born at 38 weeks at 12:30pm on Tuesday, March 10. They were delivered via C-section since both were breech. Max was 6.1 lbs and Levi was 7.1 lbs! I couldn’t believe that I grew such big babies, especially considering that my older son (who was also born at 38 weeks) was 6.13 lbs on his own.

As much as I was ready not to be pregnant anymore, I must say that I was not a fan of the caesarean birth. I am a big wimp with pain, but I much preferred the natural delivery. I didn’t like the hospital part, didn’t like the recovery part and overall the whole thing was just plain icky. But…

7 weeks later and I feel like me again. I’m having such a good time conquering the challenges of twin motherhood and I can’t believe that I am doing all of this on 4 hours sleep. I tell you, everyone says it will get better at 6 weeks, but in the beginning it feels like an eternity away. And then suddenly it’s here. We’re having smiles and cooing and maybe someday we’ll even start sleeping longer than 3 hours straight.

Anyway, I read the forums every single day and it’s such a comfort to hear everyone’s insight, problems, encouragement, etc. thank you!

    Maggie

Congrats! Those were some great weights. I too did not like the c-section part. It also took my 7 weeks to recover. I had two infections in my incision. Post some pictures when you get a chance. And thanks for sharing your birth story. I hope you get some more sleep soon.

Congratulations and welcome!!! Those are some fabulous weights for 38 weekers, I can't imagine how uncomfortable you were at the end. I know at 36weeks I literally popped like a water balloon.

You're going to find a TON of helpful people and information around here. Everyone's super nice and it's such a relief to know that you're not the only one experiencing x, y or z.
