Hello all. I'm 27 weeks along with identical (shared placenta) boys. Last Tuesday I lost my plug and went in to see the doc. I was 4cm dialated and contracting about every 10min. Admitted to hospital where we were able, after a day or so, to get the contractions down so that I was transferred over to the postpartum area (instead of L&D) and able to have bathroom priviledges...and food!

After one good day, we had a setback with some bleeding and contractions starting back up to every 3 min. Procardia seems to be doing the trick now...although I've lost my shower priviledges...I'm only having 4-5 contractions per hour. The boys are looking good...no strangeness there, thank God. I just graduated to NST once every shift (about 3 per day) unless something seems to change. In spite of all the contractions, we still think my cervix is at 4cm.

My doc says I'm here until the little ones are born...no chance to go home. So I hope to be able to share problems (and possible solutions) for a few weeks with you gals. My mini-goal is this Wed....the steroids will have a good chance to work by then. Next, I guess I'll just take it one day at a time.

Hi Sorry to heard about your PTL, but you are in the right place! I am also in the hospital for IUGR and PTL, but not contracting anymore and not on any meds. As far as I know I was only effacing but not thininign out. I have read alot about twin moms staying dilated for weeks, so keep up the faith! :) It also looks like they are keeping me until the end about 35 weeks probably. I think its great you have minigoals! Mine is wed when I turn 32 weeks and it will be one week down in the hospital. How are you dealing with being in? I had a very hard time the first three days, but have come to terms that this is the best place for me and the babies..Keep us posted and we can be hospital bedresting partners!

hi my name is heather. i am on hospital bed rest as of last week mon 1/28. i am pregnant with identical boys. there is a 30% growth difference between the two boys and the smaller one is having reverse aand adverse blood flow. has anyone ever heard of this? i am 28weeks and 5 days. they said the delivery was going to be last week, but thank god the ultrasounds have not changed and stayed the same. so its pretty much day to day. i am such a worry wort, and i am just so scared but hopefully the good ultrasounds will keep coming for a few weeks. its very stressful at home, i have a 2 yr old, and the MIL is in town and gives hime whatever he wants to eat!!! yesturday he had cheesecake fr breakfest, carrot cake for lunch and teddy grahms for dinner!!!!! he will be a diabetic by the time i get out of here. i have told her not to do this and have yelled at DH for this. She came from another state to help out and she is stressing me out even more. she breaks stuff, lies and is sneaky. I know its not good for me to go home, but for my 2 yr olds health, i think i may need to. my husband works from 9am to 8 pm. i just feel so torn. i know its best i stay in here for the twins sake but i am sressed.
Thanks for listening to the venting! feel free to vent back. i know its hard for all of us and its not forever.
    keep those babies in!

i am trying to stay calm about the MIL! I should keep calling her every hour to chk up and see if she wil just get sick of me being on her case! I have already tried explaining how its not helping the situation if my other child is not getting good care. we will see, this not forever. well i have to go and order dinner(yummy hospital food)
    talk with you soon
    Heather
