Congratulations on your pregnancy and Welcome to TS!
I can tell you my pregnancy was uneventful. The first trimester, I was constantly nauseaous (sorry about the spelling) but never got sick, just did not eat a lot. The second trimester made up for that! My biggest issue was my legs swelling, especially in the last trimester, I would have to elevate them quite a bit. I saw my OB monthly, had U/S's monthly and towards the end had a couple of non stress tests during the last weeks. I worked until 36 weeks and had a scheduled c-section at 38 weeks (baby A was breech). I did get big but not as big as I thought. Enjoy your pregancy and take it easy!

Each pregnancy is different so there is really no way to tell you really what to expect. My twin pregnancy was uneventful until 24w, then I needed an emergency cerclage. I got big around 18 weeks, but it was also my 2nd pregnancy. I always felt much further along with my twin pregnancy than my singleton. Just be sure to follow your drs. orders, drink lots of water, eat healthy.

:welcome: to TS and congrats on your pregnancy. You will find the mods and women in Expecting to be ultra supportive for this journey. I wish you the absolute best of luck on a happy and healthy rest of your pregnancy.

Drinks lots of water and get your protein intake up would be my advice. The Boost drinks are really good for that. That might help your energy level.

:wavey: and welcome to Twinstuff!!! Congrats on your twins! I agree with the others, no one can tell you what to expect. Just drink ALOT of water and listen to your body. At the beginning I did go through a period where I didn't eat much and was very tired. I hope that passes for you soon.

Yes, Each pregnancy is different. This is my second pregnancy and I haven't gained as much weight as I thougth I would. (0nly 19 lbs) but each woman is different, and each pregnancy is different. I wasn't measuring bigger than I should until my 2nd trimester. Now, at 31 weeks, I was measuring 42 cm so timester 2 and 3 made up for the 1st.

    Good luck and welcome!

Not sure if it's to be expected or not. I had pain much later in my pregnancy when my belly got heavier. If you ever have any concerns or discomforts, call your doctor for peace of mind.

Is it like a sharp pain, dull constant pain? I know I used to get pains in my hips if I laid on the side too long, like sleeping, almost like my hip would get numb.

i'm sure you've got a TON of helpful info so far but here is my experience thus far with my mono/di boys.

my first trimester i was beyond exhausted, could hardly move around for more than a half an hour without needing the lay down to rest or take a nap. i was naseaus all the time but spent more of it dry heaving. i gained a TON of weight, 15lbs total by the end of it. i started to show around 12 weeks but was in maternity clothes by 10 weeks. my breasts where very large and exteremly sensitive and swollen and sex.....forget about it. i wanted nothing to do with it.

into the second trimester i am noticing more nausea (yay) and more fatique (double yay). also the shortness of breath has been a REAL issue with me. i get short of breath a lot. the specialists wants me to rest as much as possible, not bed rest but rest with very mild and restricted activities...i.e. light walking and light swimming.

as you progress in your prregnancy you will find that it gets harder and harder to eat a lot of food at once. your belly just gets so full so fast. they say to eat several small meals periodically throughout the day.

as for your size, you are going to big and fast but try not to stress over it!

good luck and congrats on the pregnancy!!!!!!!

Every twin pregnancy is different which you can see from other stories on here.Just use precaution. If something doesn't feel right..thats what the Dr. is there for to ask ?'s. Drink lots of water and rest lots.Once the babies get here you won't be getting much of that for a while :)

Good luck! Did they ever say what your side pain was? It could be the ligament streching pain... I know I had a lot of it in my 1st and 2nd trimester... luckily it went away in the 3rd.

They did not say what exactly d pain was. Just dat its normal t experience lots of abd discomforts ard now. They also cldnt determine the cause of the bleeding. I hope it dsnt occur again. Thanks for your concern. The pain is gone though

    Congrats on your twins!

I am almost 24 weeks now with di/di boys and at 20 weeks I was measuring 24 cm. So I can only imagine what I'll be measuring in a couple months.
I had a severe case of morning sickness in my first trimester. I went to ER to get fluids and they put me on medication just so I could keep things down. I still feel nauseous, but it is deffinately getting better. The heartburn is what makes it the worst for me. Never had heartburn with my daughter.

I also get short of breath - for no reason at all. I can get out of breath just rolling over in bed. lol

The abdominal discomfort will continue - thanks to those ligaments stretching. Also my hips feel like they're wobbly already.

But really once you start having the ultrasounds and hearing the heartbeats its all worth it. Just keep tylenol handy!

    Good luck on your pregnancy!!!
