    Hi everyone,

I am new to this board. Today, I am 10 weeks, 3 days with twins! This is our second pregnancy, first successful pregnancy. We had been TTC for nearly 3 years, and finally got prego with twins--with no fertility meds!!!

I am 37 years old, DH is 38. We are soooo excited!

Today I go in for my weekly (yes, weekly) sono and doctor appointment. Can't wait to see our babies again!

Any advice for the newbie at 10 1/2 weeks would be appreciated/welcome. Really just wanted to introduce myself to the group.

I do have one question: does the famed second trimester "energy spurt" happen when carrying twins? My doc laughed at me when I asked him that. He said to "just remember, you're carrying twins, girl. You're going to be beat!"

    Thanks to all!

It's a great place. Just read lots and you will learn tons!

    COngrats on your twins.

As far as the energy, everyone is different. You'll just have to wait and see. I felt great and had no problems. I was doing almost everything I wanted right up until about 36weeks.
Why are you on weekly appts and u/s's?
    Good luck.

I have had periodic spotting and cramping, plus I have two cysts on my left ovary that they are watching. They are pretty sure the cysts are corpus luteal (??)--normal progesterone cysts, but the doc just wants to keep a close eye on me and the babies until after my 12th week.

I absolutely LOVE my OB, btw. He is awesome! He gives his prego patients his email address so that we can ask him any questions we might have at any time. He usually responds within the same day. Plus, he has a great sense of humor and my husband likes him. That's important b/c my DH is very protective of his prego wife.

    Anyway, thanks for the reply!

    HI!! WELCOME AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad you found us!!!!!

I actually had a GREAT twin pregnancy!!! I had no morning sickness and I was tired but not so much that it stopped me from doing much! I had most of my issues in my third trimester - I just could not get comfy at night, I watched tv most nights sitting here in my big chair and then I napped on and off during the day ( I was on bedrest at 30 weeks because baby A had low fluid and was smaller).

hi smitch! welcome to TS and a big congratulations on your pregnancy! how fantastic you conceived twinnies after trying so long, you guys must be over the moon!

i love getting my two week u/s - already we have quite the collection of baby pictures on our fridge. you must be filling your second album right about now, lol.

at 36 this is my first pg so i'm no expert, but i definitely felt a shift of energy as i sailed into the 2nd trimester - though using it wisely has been a learning experience! after the fatigue of the 1st trimester, i tended to push myself too hard once the 2nd kicked in (i've always been a real busy bee) but soon realised this was leaving me wiped out the next day. just balancing my activity and taking things down a notch or two is giving me a more steady source of energy; i'm still out and about all the time but drive more places, take more elevators, walk a bit slower and put my feet up and chill whenever I can. i feel great!

good luck and here's to a happy and healthy pg for you all!

Molly, when did you find out the sex of your babies? Just curious, I thought that wasn't possible until 18 wks, and I see that you are just over 17 weeks. Thanks so much for your reply!

We definitely are blessed with these two little miracles! I guess God is making up for the loss of our first pregnancy, LOL!

Congratulations!! How exciting :) Do you know if you are having identical or fraternal twins yet? Just try to take it easy and take everything in stride. After 20 weeks I have seemed to get periodic energy spurts, but I am always careful not to go too crazy doing stuff because if I do I am paying for it at the end of the day with swelling, headaches, body aches, etc. I have a calender that is marks my pregnancy in weeks and I check off each day. That has helped me a lot-we just take it week by week and the time has flown by :) Good luck and we look forward to hearing more about you.

:wavey: and welcome to twinstuff!! Congratulations on your twins!!! I'm sorry to hear about your prior loss. :hug99:

My advice is to listen to your body. If you are tired, lay down... if you have ANY concerns, always call your OB. That's what they are there for and you will put your mind at ease. Also, drink lots of water. :D
I didn't have the second trimester energy burst. :( I did feel alot better after 20 weeks because my morning sickness went away but I was still tired.
I also had the cysts you described and they went away on their own by the time I was in the second trimester. I like that your OB is so reachable and willing to help you at any time. :good: All doctors should be like that.
I found out the sex of the babies when I was 17 weeks, but they told me that was a little early so they didn't want to say 100%, but at 20 weeks {also when I got my Level II} they told me definately! Are you going to be finding out?

15 weeks and 4 days!!! I have 2 friends that found out at 13 weeks (singleton boys) but my OB said "Too early" when I asked him at the app before. At the 15 week check up he saw immediately. So you might not have to wait as long as you thought! Do you know yet if they are identical or fraternal? I have a shared placenta so we knew we weren't going to be getting one of each from the get go!

    Speak soon!
