    Hi ladies,

My name is BrieAnna(Brie for short) and my dh's name is Matthew. After five and a half yrs of ttc we finally conceived our miracle babies, first it was triplets but we lost one and now we have our beautiful baby girls. :D They entered the world on March 19,2008 @5:01 and 5:02pm. Twin A we named Sophia Nicole and she weighed 3lbs 15oz,16.33inches and twin B we named Olivia Marie and she weighed 3lbs 8oz,16.75inches. They had a short visit in the NICU mainly for prematurity 34wk+1 and IUGR due to pre-e(stupid doctor never once checked my urine. I went in for an u/s at 33wks and they sent me to L&D where I ended up contracting and went from 3 to 4 in 30mins at 80% effaced) Also because Sophia couldnt get the hole suck, swallow breath thing down.

Since they've been home its been amazing, overwhelming, scary, emotional, hard, tiring and so much more. It's been ruff considering it's just dh and I with no other help. We just moved here from Hawaii and havent meet many ppl yet. Although I will have to say it's getting alot easier now that one sleeps through the night and the other only gets up once which always seems to be about 2am when I am dead asleep!

The girls are so different it amazes me! Sophia is so calm and relaxed and hardly ever cries but miss Olivia on the other hand is very demanding! She's our miss piggy, she loveees to eat! That's one of the reason's why I stopped bf'ing/pumping I was just to exhsuated lol I wouldnt want it any other way though it's nice to have the two different personalites.

So I do have a few questions for you guysif you dont mind...
    1. I was wondering if anyone elses twins had to sleep in bouncey's? The girls peditrican recommand the bouncey's due to acid reflux however their not spitting up as much and I just think its time to start putting them in the crib together.I worry about their lil backs always being in them.
2.Any suggestions on transitioning to the crib again? At one point I had them in the playpen but they started having the acid reflux again and so that got nipped in the butt. I do try and lay them down on the couch.floor or play pen sometimes but it doesnt last very long.
    3. When were you able to start cereal? Doc said maybe at their 4month check up she would see how they were doing. Their 4 wks behind in weight and height.
And last but not least I'd like any other advice you guys have for me~ ;)

    Just some extra info.
Sophia is now 21" and weights 10.5lbs-doc appt on 6-15
Olivia is now approx.22" and weights approx. 11.5lbs

Ok I think thats it for now! lol I look forward to getting to know you guys and to meeting new people~

    Congrats on your girls!!!!

Mine never slept in their bouncy seats, but they did sleep in their swings for the first few months. It was the only place they'd sleep. I would just try them in their crib for nap time and see how they do. If it bothers them (because of the acid reflux) then just move them back and try again a few days later.
We started cereal at 4 months, but I'd say wait and get the go ahead from pedi. Since they were early they may need to wait a little longer.

My best advice is this website. There is just so much support and info here!

    Keep us posted!

Welcome! My girls were born March 17th :) I have them sleep in the swing/bouncy for naps. I'm not going to worry about transitioning to a crib for about another month. I'm not planning on starting solids until 6 months.

Hi, welcome and great job getting through the first few months. What a crazy time to be all by yourself! To answer your question about sleep; we believed in "survival mode" meaning we would do anything to help them sleep. That meant that Greta slept in the swing most nights (or bouncy). We started to transition slowly at about 4 months and they both ended up in our bed a few times a night and then over the months we got them solely in their crib. Don't stress too much about where they sleep but rather just THAT they sleep.

I am a big believer in not starting any food until 6 months. I think it's prudent to wait until then.

    Okay other tips:

-Count on DH and give each other the benefit of the doubt always
-It's okay to let a baby cry for a while
-Swaddle a lot and for as long as you like (we swaddled until almost 6 months)
-Get out of the house once a day or a couple times a week - even if just for a drive or a walk
    -Join a local twin group

    Best wishes and CONGRATS!

    Welcome to TS!

Ours slept in a bouncy or a swing for a few months. I worried about it, too, but they are doing fine. We transitioned to the crib starting with some of their daytime naps. It just felt easier for me to work that way. Once they were napping during the day in their cribs, then we started using the cribs at night as well.

We started solids at 4 months, with the dr.'s permission, but I delivered at 39 weeks, and our twins are large for their age. My best advice for solids is you need lots of patience. They don't understand the spoon thing at first, and it's really messy at first, but they love eating food now.

I second the try to find a twins group, if there is one near you.

Congratulations on your twins! It sounds like you are all doing well!

My girls didn't have issues with reflex although they spent most of their time napping during the day in the swing or bouncy. Wherever they would sleep was great with me. I put them in their pnp at night until they were ready to go to their own room which we did sometime around 2.5 months. They continued to have their naps during the day in their swing/bouncy until a few weeks ago and now nap in their pnps.

We tried rice cereal at 4 months and it just didn't seem like it was working so I put it off another two weeks or so and tried again with much better results. I think every baby is different. Don't feel like you have to do it at 4 months and don't feel like they won't sleep thru the night without it. Mine were sttn by 3 months.

    Welcome!

    Congratulations and :sign0016:

    We love questions!

Our babies slept in bouncies for the first three weeks. They just did not seem comfortable anywhere else. Mine then moved to the pack n play. For some reason they liked the pnp better than the crib. At 7 weeks they went into the crib finally. We would just try every so often. Hopefully this helps a little. I say cereal at four months adjusted age sounds right - of course, always check with their dr. That's when I've seen most of these ladies have the most success with starting solids earlier. We didn't start solids until 6 months - we chose to wait until later.

Way to go on caring for those babies! Great weights :a_smil09: .

Mine slept in bouncy's, car seats, and on my chest due to reflux.

2.Any suggestions on transitioning to the crib again?

We went cold turkey into the crib at 4 months.

    3. When were you able to start cereal? Doc said maybe at their 4month check up she would see how they were doing. Their 4 wks behind in weight and height.

Mine were 8 weeks premature and we started solids at 4 months, but we were already putting cereal in their bottles due to reflux per the Ped. Every baby is different in terms of readyness to start cereal.
