Hi I am new here. I have 8 week old twin girls Hope Riley & Grace Nicole. Everyone here has such great advice. I have a real problem getting them to take naps, so by the time I get home from work they are really fussy. I have also discovered that baths at night really help calm them down, but I can not get them to go to sleep before it gets dark. Any suggestions on that?

Baths at night were always so calming for my guys, especially when we used Lavender and Chamomile body wash and lotion.

Naps during the day were all over the place for the first 4 months... I just put them down when they wanted to...

Mine also never went to bed at night until it was dark. They are still that way.

mine used to go to bed not until 10pm but as they got older the time kept getting earlier and earlier. It got to the point where they went to bed around 6pm but now they go to bed around 7pm. And I would let them nap at that age whenever they needed it, which seemed like all day.

:sign0016: Just wanted to say hello! My boys are 9 wks old. My boys kind of have the same pattern 24 hrs a day. No real "naps" yet. It's all just, diaper change, eat, short awake time, sleep, repeat. LOL Bath time always wears mine out also.

:sign0016: to TS! Congratulations on your babies!

Our naps were a mess until about 5 months. Up until then it was whenever, and whereever! Our bedtime slowly shifted earlier, and now it is between 630 and 7.

First of all Welcome. I am sure you will be addicted to this site very quickly. Our naps became more predictable at around 4 months. and I would let them sleep if I thought they needed it, even if it meant an half an hour before bedtime, but I would wake them after a little while.
As for fussiness during the evening, feed them more often, and they also may go to bed earlier. It's hard to give advice, since at that age, every day seems different. Hang in there though, it can be very frusterating.

Hi, I don't have twins yet, but I do have a 4 year old son. The one thing I bought for his room that was a lifesaver for me were blackout blinds. If you think they aren't sleeping because of the light I would say that blackout blinds are well worth the money. I plan on ordering them very soon for the nursery I'm working on for my twins.

    HTH.
