Hello, just wanted to introduce myself. I just had my twins on Monday April 23, 2007. We have a beautiful baby girl and boy! We had a rough delivery, baby A born vaginally and Baby B by emergency c-section due to cord prolapse, he wasnt able to get enough air . I lost alot of blood during the c-section, so im slowly recovering, just very weak and tired , not including being up with the twins lol.
So i already have some questions as they have only been here for a week
Baby boy is such a slow eater- an i mean slow- he will take 2-3 sucks, then rest and repeat. Baby Girl is a fast eater and is done in 5mins or less. Is this normal or could somthing be wrong with our boy?
Also we had baby boy circumsized, how long does it usually take to heal? its been 4 days, and he still scream when he pottys or you change his diaper from it being sore. ?
Anyways just wanted to say hello :) We finally are on the FY forums and no longer pregnant lol

I always put gobs of vaseline on my boys circumcisions to keep them from sticking to their diapers, and to keep it protected from the urine. Is it crusty yellow looking at the top? That is a good sign that it is healing properly.

About the eating...the only thing I can think to suggest is trying a faster nipple? They are so young though to be going up a size. Or does he seem to be gulping it? Like it's coming out too fast? I would mention it to the ped.

    Welcome to the FY forum!

Yes, i put lots of vaseline on it also, and yes it does have yellow stuff around it. I just hate seeing him in pain :(
No he doesnt gulp, he just takes his dear old sweet time eating lol.We have already designated nicknames to them- she is known as Ms Piggy ( cause shes always ready to eat and does it fast) and hes sqeeker cause hes slow lol

    love the nicknames- very funny!
i think it is normal for them to eat differenetly, after all, they are 2 different kids, just like any brohter/sister combo. my DD was a very SLOPPY eater (finally not anymore!) at first, though both were- and still are- very slow to eat (45-60 mins! ) as long as they are eating and gaining weight, everythign is fine. you could still mention it to the doctor at their next appt if you're worried though.
    good luck settling in!

I agree with what a pp said about "as long as he is gaining weight don't worry". We had the same thing with our girls. Baby A was a fast eater and Baby B took forever. Baby B still takes longer but not as long as she did when we first brought her home.

As far as the pee pee thing, I would call his MD. More than likely it is fine, but I am a little paranoid so I would have it checked!

Congrats and welcome to the boards!

With the circumcison not only put vaseline on the ***** but, on the diaper as well so you can ensure no sticking to the diaper. It takes a couple of weeks to heal all the way.

My son ate like that in the beginning and now he is our porker. I would just give him some time....my son took about 2 weeks to get used to the eating thing. As far as the circ- we also used vaseline, the more the better.
