    Hey everyone,
I am new to the boards, I am 6 1/2 weeks pregnant with twins. This is my 3rd pregnancy. My husband and I have a 4 yr old little girl with severe cerebal palsy. She is our angel. We waited 4 yrs to try again, scared of the what if's. I had a hard pregnancy with our daughter and was scared of not knowing if another child would be special. I am beyond thankful for my daughter and wouldn't change her disability for a minute, it changed my life, but was scared of it happening again. We finally decided to try again and got pregnant in Nov and lost the pregnancy in Jan (at 6 weeks along). We were devastated. We decided to try again and found out we are pregnant with twins! We had our 1st ultra sound last Thurs and heard two heartbeats! We were thrilled and shocked! Of course now I am doubly nervous! Terrified of losing the babies, but praying for the best! The last pregnancy we never heard a heartbeat so we were elated that there was not only 1 but 2. Of course everything scares me. I just want to get through this trimester so I can relax a little.

Any of you have a common story? Having a miscarriage then getting pregnant with twins and having a good pregnancy? I need to hear some good stories so I don't worry so much. lol

Couple questions I have since I'm a nervous nelly. lol, I have been really sick since middle of last week, but today it hasn't been as bad, I have been nauseous today, just not as bad as the last few days. My dr said being sick is a good sign so when I'm feeling ok I panick. Have any of u had the same thing, where some days r worse than others? And 2nd My breast tenderness was horrible! They r still sore but not as bad, is that normal does it start to mellow out? U would think I would remember from being pregnant with my daughter but that as 4 yrs ago! But I am way more worried this time around!

    Thanks!

    Hi and welcome!

I had a 7 week miscarriage then a few months later concieved very, very healthy twins. My pregnancy was hard but my babies nor myself had serious complications.

My nausea started early and didn't end until the middle of the 2nd trimester. I did have days that were better than others but mostly I was just so very tired in the beginning.

Welcome! Congrats on the pregnancy and I'm sorry for your loss! I had horrible nausea for the first 4 months with my oldest and the twins. There were some days that were better (I could eat okay) than others (I barely touched saltines). So that's totally normal. :)

Welcome! I've had morning sickness most of my pregnancy, it slightly went away in the 2nd trimester and now its back. In the beginning (my 1st trimester) my doc said it was completely normal and meant the babies were healthy, I told him thats hard to believe when im constantly upchucking, lol. He was a little concerned when it came back but all my blood work was perfect so hes not worried. As for the breast tenderness it was severe in the first trimester, id never felt anything like it before (this is my first pregnancy) but it subsided in the 2nd trimester.

My doc said everything you go through in a twin pregnancy is more intense than a singleton pregnancy, thus far, comparing it to my friends that have had single.births, he was right.

    Do you know if they're di/di, mono/mono or mono/di?

Good luck with your pregnancy! And utilize this forum, the gals truly are great about answering questions or alleviating fears!

Congrats and welcome to TS! Feel free to ask as many questions as you want!!

I conceived my twins with the help of fertility meds after 2 back to back miscarriages. I had a wonderful twin pregnancy and my twins were born at 36wks 2 days. They are now active and healthy 3 yr olds! Good luck to you!

Yup, I had a miscarriage, then blammo, twins! They came a little early (34 weeks, 6 days) but had no NICU time, and are incredibly healthy almost 5 year olds.

As for morning sickness, I had it all of the time. The last time I puked was on the operating table for the c-section. After the first trimester though, it's cake puking. Like oh, I feel sick, now let me finish my dinner. The important thing is to keep your blood sugars even, so eat a little something at least every three hours. Like a 3 crackers and cheese. Carb + protein. And ginger. I ate so much ginger. Ginger altoids, candied ginger, ginger ale, ginger beer. . .

Becca ... you and I must be long lost sisters! I've had the same thing with the morning sickness, ginger has become my best friend in the last 6 months, I'm thinking about adding it to my will ... lol! anyway --I've gotten to the point that it's like ... ehh whatever I have to puke again! DH doesn't even come in to check on me any more .... it's sad when you get that used to it!!! lol

I used to just hand my plate to my husband, then pick it up on the way out of the bathroom.

    Welcome Tiffany RH!!

I'm pretty new to this site too so I'm happy to see someone close to me in due date! I am in the middle of Week 8 with twins. We had to resort to IVF and it worked the first cycle!! :) I am sorry to hear of your earlier miscarriage. I can't imagine the grief anyone goes through dealing with such a tragedy. But right now, I do know that your baby needs your positive spirit foremost, especially in the first trimester. Try hard not too worry too much about your symptoms. Everything is NORMAL. And if you have any questions, call your doc. That is what they are there for. I have my nurses emails to send any questions at a minute's notice. :p They are wonderful!! I haven't gotten to the point of thowing up, but I do feel queasy. Week 6 was the worst for me. Week 7 I mainly felt extreme fatigue. This week I feel tired and queasy feeling here and there. Ginger ale and crackers are always with me, but they don't seem to work too much. I heard there is a med your doc can Rx you if it gets really bad for you. Good luck!

Congratulations on your twins and welcome to twinstuff!! I also had a miscarriage before becoming pregnant with my boys. I found out at my 10 week u/s that my baby had stopped growing. Seeing that lifeless u/s was awful. I got pg with my boys 4 months later and was terrified before every u/s that something had happened to my boys. I had NO morning sickness what so ever which of course totally freaked me out. I wanted to feel nauseous or vomit or have some sort of pregnancy symptom just for the reassurance that my body was doing what it should. But I didn't have to wait long before I was reassured every day with their movement and my rapidly expanding belly. And now 4 1/2 years later I have 2 healthy, energetic, beautiful boys. I think experiencing a loss definetly takes the innocence out of pregnancy. You feel more vulnerable but you also cherish it more, too. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. :)

    Hi everyone,
I am now 24 weeks pregnant with twins and starting to get very anxious and nervous about everything. This is our first pregnancy so I don't really know what to expect. I was diagnosed with hypothalmic amenorrhea 2 years ago because I stopped getting periods due to running too much and not getting enough fats. I stopped running, eating more and began fertility treatments. I did gonal F with an IUI twice and nothing worked. The third time I just did gonal F and we had intercourse and here we are twoday with two twin BOYS on the way. I couldn't be happier, but more nervous. I am already a very anxious person and have dealt with anxiety and panic attacks in the past so for my sake and the babies I am really trying not to get overwhelmed and too nervous about all of this, but it is kind of hard. I haven't really had a chance to read many postings, but just thought I would introduce myself because this seemed like a really great place. I look forward to getting to know everyone on here and learning about your journeys with twins or more.

Hi Tiffany and Kennanboys. Congratulations on your pregnancies and welcome to twinstuff, I hope you like it.

Tiffany, sorry to hear about your loss. I was also sick every day and night through my pregnancy - but I rarely threw up - just because I was scared of eating :). I mostly lived with water, baby carrots, watermelon and icecream :). Even talking about being pregnant makes me feel sick to my stomach - I feel it now also :). I also had the breast tenderness. Other than being sick to my stomach I didn't have any other issues while pregnant and I was really active, I worked until the week before I had them. My kids are almost 22 months old, very healthy and they were born with a scheduled C-Section at 37 weeks 5 days - no complications at all.

Good luck to both of you!
