I have been lurking for quite some weeks now. I am 28 weeks PG w/ b/g twins. I have a 5 yr old little girl. DH and I lost our 4 month old son to SIDS on Jan. 14th this year. We found out in August that we are expecting twins. Although a surprise we can't wait for them to get here. I have had a pretty non-eventful pregnancy so far.

Today however, I coughed and a extremely painful burning pain overtook me. I have been using lotion with no help. I feel like I am about to rip apart, I just want to cry. I cannot even think about how much more my skin has to stretch. Please help! This is painful!

Im probably not much help as I only ever had terrible itching - no pain but I found vitamin e cream great it stopped the itching for a little while anyway. Maybe there is something the doctor could perscribe. Good luck and Congratulations on your twins.Oh and :welcome: to TS!

I get that burning ripping apart feeling also when new stretch marks are being created. Not pleasant at all. I haven't found anything to make it better other than it going away on it's own and waiting for the next round. I use lotion but I really don't know how much that helps. I hear ya though - it feels like your muscles and skin are just ripping. At least for me it doesn't seem to be all the time but when I get it - ouch! Drink plenty of water. I think that helps keep your skin more elastic also.

    Congrats on your twin pregnancy!

I totally hear you. My skin feels like its on fire every time more stretch marks appear. The only thing that really helped was when that happened I applied my belly lotion 5-6 times a day. I don't know if it really did anything but it made me feel like I was doing what I could do.

Yeah, I ditto all the pp. The ripping feeling is horrendous, and the stretch marks that followed looked even worst. I tried Palmer's Cocoa butter formula - Tummy butter (looks exactly like butter!!) and it relieves it temp but once it gets absorbed or rubbed off by your clothes, it can come back. I also try not to shower with hot water as it tends to dry our skin out, which encourages stretch marks.

the only thing i found that helps is baby oil. i put it on in the morning and coat my stomach legs & breast in it each night, i could be a slip & slid for my other kids but there it works.
    hope it helps
