    Hey all!
I'm new here and very excited about all the information on this website! I just found out I'm having fraternal twins (a boy & girl) last week at 21 weeks. What a surprise that was! My husband & I couldn't be more excited! I haven't even gotten to see a doctor since the ultrasound, so I'm packed full of questions!

My main question right now is that I feel like my belly is going to rip in half! If I sit with my torso bent, it feels like my abs are going to rip. If I put my hands over my head, I feel like the babies are going to get dislodged and something is going to rip in there! My belly is so tight I'm just scared to move in any way for fear of ripping the babies away from my flesh. Can this happen? What about their placentas - is there something that I can do that can cause them to come away from their sacs or is that impossible?

I'm also afraid of squishing them...can this happen? Like if I lay on my side and one of their little legs is sticking out weird or something, can it get squished?

I'm sure these are silly questions but I worry about my little babes!

    Thanks,
    Jewell Sloan

Nope, they'll be fine! I even tripped on an uneven walkway and managed to fall and slam my belly on someone's front steps when I was about 20 weeks with my twins. I was pretty bruised up, they weren't hurt at all. And when you think you just can't possibly get any bigger and people are asking if you're having that baby any day, you'll get bigger and probably go a couple more months past that. Congratulations! Being a mom to twins still sometimes feels like I've joined a secret club, even though my girls are 6 1/2.

    Congrats on your twins!!!

Everything Dielle wrote I agree. You won't hurt the babies and you'll just bigger. I've fell with every pregnancy (including this one though I haven't hit my belly) and babies all came out perfect!

This is my second twin pregnancy and it's seems so much more uncomfortable than the last. I didn't find out last time until I was 20 weeks and it's quite the surprise!!

Thanks for the reassurance ladies! I really feel like I've joined some secret twin society! I feel really special haha. Imagine how your kids must feel being twins!

I'm definitely glad that I found out later than earlier. I'm sure I would have eaten better if I'd known earlier, but I also would have been way more stressed out the whole time & not enjoyed my pregnancy as much as I have.

    Thanks again!

Nah, they are fine. In fact, my Baby B would stick his foot in between my ribs and for months we'd go rounds where I'd push hard to dislodge his foot for hours then as soon as I let go, he'd put it right back again. :)
