one of my LOs has been waking up the past week at 630 as opposed to his usual 730. he wakes up miserable, cranky, screaming.
we try and soothe him back to sleep but he's very irritable.

room is blackened, white noise/fan is on.

could i do anything else to keep him asleep?
could there be a new reason why he's waking up earlier?

has there been any adjustments to his naps lately? is he teething? hitting a new milestone? ill or have an ear infection or recent vacination? all of those things wreak havoc on my girls' sleep.

when they start waking early, i usually try to soothe them back to sleep once. if that doesn't work, we get up for the day & i adjust nap time & bedtime to earlier in the day to accomodate the early wake up. usually, it lasts for anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks, but eventually they go back to a later wake up time. GL!

I usually don't go in unless WWIII has started in the nursery. Sometimes my guys will wake and give a few cries, or whine and babble but I just let them fuss until it's time to get up. Soothing doesn't work for us for early wakeups, so unless they're in serious distress, we don't go in. We do leave stuffed animals near their cribs (on the nightstand) and books that they can flip through if they're bored. Can you leave a few baby-safe toys or board books for your LOs to keep them amused if they wake early?

We are going through this right now too and I am about to lose my mind :gah: We have the blackout curtains and the white noise machine (well air purifier). This has been going on now for since Memorial Day weekend. I hope it stops soon.

I have no clue how to get them to sleep later. 6:30 is way too early for me.

Same thing over here, it settled for a few weeks and now two days of before six BLAH. The whole day is thrown off before it begins!

If both of my boys slept in until 6:30am I would be sooooo thankful! But Brandon woke up at 4:45am this morning, 4:50am yesterday, 5:10am before that. You get the picture. This has been going on for at least a couple of weeks now. It's great that his brother sleeps until 6:30am, but it doesn't help me much since I have to get up and deal w/ Brandon. I might soon adopt Valerie's WWII approach, LOL. But Brandon gets SO loud. I can hear him down the hallway with both doors shut and both rooms running a white noise machine :headbang:

Same here. Wake-up is anytime between 6 or 6:30am, just after they had gotten me used to a 7am lie in. I'm about ready to hang myself.
