New baby birth story

    Annabel Vivian arrived on March 26th at 10:49 AM. She was eight days late! She weighed 8 lbs. 6.5 ozs. and was 20 inches long. I was induced on Wednesday the 25th with misoprostol, a cervical ripener. I went to the hospital expecting they were going to apply the miso and then I would go home to wait. However, when I got there they said the protocol had changed and I would be admitted. I had painless contractions all day and they gave me another miso at 6 PM. At midnight I finally started having painful contractions and they took me over to the labor and delivery floor. At 3 AM they gave me an epidural. At around 5 AM my water broke. At 8 AM, it was time to push. It took me 3 hours to push her out!

    I am recovering well from labor and baby is doing great! She sleeps a lot so I have to wake her up for nursing sometimes. The twins are still not quite sure what to make of her, but are becoming more curious and coming over to check her out more. We are so happy she is finally here!

    Congratulations! I'm so glad she arrived safe and sound. Eight days late and three hours of pushing - you're a hero! Keep us posted on life with a newborn and a pair of toddlers!
