Had my first OB appointment last Thursday had all the normal new pg stuff done. Had my U/S and I am 5 weeks 3 days just like I thought one of the babies has a smaller sac then the other. Yes I said babies we are having twins!

We go back in to check on the growth of the babies on the 22nd I will be 8 weeks 1day then so we should see them well then. I am in aww right now a double blessing, I keep thanking the Lord for them and asking him to guide us and do what is right for our babies.
Please keep our babies in your prayers so they both grow well and are healthy.

    I am due Dec 1

Is this "normal" at my u/s there was 2 sacs and one big yoke sac, one sac was a little smaller than the other. There was no poles because I am still very early.(I was 5w3d)

Has anyone had this and went on 2 see 2 heartbeats and then having 2 babies?

    Is one yoke bad?

My next u/s is in 2 weeks we should see the hearts beating then right? (I will be 8w2d).

My first u/s with the twins was just past 9 weeks so I have no experience with the early u/s, except for this pregnancy...which we're still not for sure on my due date.

Anyway...I don't believe it's uncommon for the sacs to be different sizes as they may have implanted at different times. By 8 weeks, you should be able to see the heartbeats and they will look more like babies.

    Congratulations.

I didn't see my twins until 8 weeks, so I don't know. But congrats to you! :)

I don't know about the one yolk sac but my babies had different sac sizes and one baby measured small the first few weeks. They kept warning us that she might not make it. Then at 9 weeks they did the u/s with the belly wand instead of vaginally and they measured the same. I think it was the angle of the scan the whole time. Good luck and congrats on your two blessings.

Welcome to Twinstuff and congrats on your twins.

I think it is still very early with the u/s. We found out it was twins at 5w2d and didn't see both fetal poles until 6w and some odd days. So I wouldn't worry about it yet. The next u/s you should see the h/bs and everything better.

Hi there!! At our 6 week ultra sound we also had one smaller sac. The smaller sac was actually about a 1/3 the size of the larger one. Our Doc. was pretty sure that it was going to be Vanishing Twin syndrome(which is quite common) But over the next few weeks the little sac grew. We are 13 weeks now and the smaller baby is just a few days behind the other. We will be praying for you.

Hi Tanya! I know you from the SK expecting multiples board (count_to_3)! Congratulations again!

I wish I knew more, but I also didn't see my twins until 9 to 10 weeks. It is so hard waiting to see those sweeties, isn't it? About drives me nuts still!
