SO I am never hungry really, I mean every once in a while I get an "oh my goodness I have to eat" but other than that just not really into food. I have always been this way, but sometimes now I find I get headaches n stuff and I'm sure it is bc I am not eating enough. It worries me but I just don't feel like eating. And it's not as if I've had morning sickness bc not even once - should I force myself?
I'm 15 weeks now and have a long way to go. I've gained 2 lbs since I got pg....

I had this very discussion with my OB on Wednesday. Two things...1) Make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins and 2) try eating small snacks throughout the day. A cup of yogurt, an apple, a handful of nuts. I don't ever want to sit down and eat a full meal, so I have a bowl of cereal or an apple and some cheese every few hours. Don't force yourself to over-eat, but do try and eat something.

I was the same way. I only gained 17lbs through my whole pregnancy. I drank a lot of ensure and protein shakes to try to get some high nutritious calories in!

That makes me feel so much better.... I'm either "eh... not hungry and food is gross" or "must eat everything NOW". And I'll go for a week or so with the snacking all day, protein shake method and then spend a day or so gorging myself like there isn't going to be food tomorrow. That makes me feel MUCH better to know that other women feel the same way.... speaking of which, I MUST go eat the cheeseburger my husband just brought me home.... mmmm... flame-broiled... :)

    Off to gorge,
    Dominique

Ha ha! I'm the same way. The worst is when I make DH go out and get something and then I'm full after 3 bites. I feel so bad, but then I just don't want it anymore.

i never wanted to eat either, the little snacks throughout hee day can help. Just make a plan as to what you want, to eat during the day i barely gained anything but i just was never hungry. This is the time to indulge in those favorites those might be the only things you'll want to eat.

I was the same way as well ~ food just didn't sound good to me for the 1st half of my pregnancy. I was soooo picky when I did eat.
I agree with the PP, making sure you take your Prenatals & having some small healthy snacks throughout the day is a great idea :good:

So comforting to hear this - I lost weight this week and have gained less than 15-pounds so far at 35-weeks. Thought I was the only one :)

S0 glad that others feel/felt the same way! It is so hard for me to eat and actually be hungry for food. I think my stomach is just squished so small my body has adjusted. I have lost 14lbs since the beginning of my pregnancy and now at 26 weeks I have finally gained a lb back...so happy about that too.

I was the same way. It scared my cause with my son I was forever eating and with these two I just didn't feel up to it. I talked to my dr to see if there was something I could do for it and he said that the babies will take what they need from me, just make sure to take the vitamin and drink enough water. A few weeks ago the hunger kicked in and at my appt 2 weeks ago I came in at a whopping 50 lb gain. My dr said he'd usually be concerned by since I was underweight to begin with he's ok with it. I still have my moments though of not being hungry.

My OB said it's a form of food aversion. She suggested all-day grazing to keep my blood sugar level even if I wasn't particularly hungry. Mine went away in the second trimester.
