never eating his solids

one of my LO's at both meals, never eats his food. he plays with it in his mouth, spits it out on his chin or puts his whole hand in his mouth and then it ends up everywhere. he literally never eats!! he whines the entire time!

should i be concerned or could it be something more?

 

Have you tried giving him chunkier textures/finger type foods?

 

How much milk/formula is he getting in a day?

 

they get 6 oz every 3 hours. turns out to be 5 bottles a day.
it was never a problem until recently. when i tried dropping a bottle (i gave it a week), all hell broke lose here. they didnt sleep, they fussed constantly.
i do the level 2 jars of food or i make my own.
