    Hi Everyone!

I just had my twins 3 weeks ago via c-section. The skin hurts on my stomach from my belly button down to the bottom of the stomach (The incision at my bikini line does NOT hurt). I thought this was just something that would go away as I was recovering, but it has not. I called the OB's office today. The nurse told me that it's most likely nerve damage from the surgery, and that it may or may not ever heal. Has anyone else dealt with this? The skin on my stomach is so sensitive to the touch. It's really hurts to wear clothes.

Ouch! I had my girls via c-section also. After the surgery I had more muscle pain around the incision. I do remember some sensitivity around the area of the belly you are talking about, but I know mine went away. I never called the doctor about it because I assumed it was part of the healing process. It was especially irritating when I wore jeans, so I was in my maternity jeans for the first 3 weeks or so post-op. I may have had the same thing you are describing, but around 3-4 weeks after the surgery it did feel better. Don't know if I was able to help, but it was a good idea to call your doctor!

I had my c-section about 4 weeks ago and I feel similar pains. I also feel itching in that area. My sister said it is normal and that some of the feeling does come back.

I had the same problem (I think). Just felt kind of burning-ish pain perhaps on the skin above? Like it's sore and tender, right?

Anyway, I'm 12 weeks along now and it's basically gone. Maybe a tiny bit tender to the touch still, but I haven't thought about it really in a few weeks now so it's got to be much better!

Yes, it happened to me too. I went back several times post-op complaining of it and shooting pains down the fronts of both thighs and they said it was nerve damage. Mine was reversable. Now, almost three years post-op I have no hints of anything ever being wrong. I don't specifically remember how long it took for everything to get back to normal, but I want to say it was before the twinkie's first birthday.

I've got it, too. I also have a severe nerve disorder on my arm from an injury so this isn't new to me, but it's a bummer. My stomach has improved greatly over the months, though there is still discomfort, numbness and areas of sensitivity.

The best I can advise is to do your best to wear clothing. After you're 6-8 weeks pp try to use some sort of ointment (if your doctor approves it) to stimulate the nerves, which will actually sort of desensitize them and neutralize the odd sensations you're probably getting. The ointments confuse the nerves back into working again. My favorite to use is Sombra gel, which can be bought online. Tiger Balm works well, too.

I had/have it too. It did get much better though than it was in those early weeks.

I had problems with my c-section area too. Actually the whole area was numb with strange sensitivity around that. It got better but to this day, 14 months later, there is still some numb sensitivity (if that makes sense) around the area that was cut. It did get better though in the surrounding tissue, but not all. Its a weird feeling!

I call it "ningly tumb" - a little something I learned from a Stephen King book.

im the opposite. i had the boys 6 weeks ago and didnt have any tenderness or sensitivity. Instead, im numb from my belly button, halfway down my thighs. Barely any feeling at all.

Thank you all so much for your replies! I greatly appreciate it. Those of you still going through this discomfort or other discomfort from your c-sections, I feel for you!
