Need your opinion

Our DS who will be 2 in November is still in his crib and doesn't even attempt to get out. Our girls are in: 1 is in a crib and the other is in a portacrib. Our plan was to move our DS out of his crib when we moved the girls to their own cribs but that didn't happen so that is why we have a portacrib we borrowed. Well I am thinking now that we should just leave our DS in his crib but I don't want our DD who is in the portacrib in that much longer because once she starts getting into a sitting position on her own and standing I don't think it will be safe! Do you think we should just buy another crib to replace the portacrib and leave our DS in his crib? Thanks for your responses, my DH seems to think we should wait until the time comes but I say just buy it!

yes I would buy another crib, ur older DS could be in the crib for over a year. Although it does sound like a lot of cribs lol

 

I would get a crib, you can always resell it- buy gently used! Or a convertable (to a bed).
My 2 are three and are just now 'ready' for big beds.

If you think he'll do fine in a toddler bed, I think it wouldn't hurt to try it. All 3 of my girls went to beds (my oldest to a twin bed with bed rails and the other two to toddler beds) when they were 2 (literally two...just days or a few weeks after the second birthday) and I didn't have any problems.

My oldest moved out at 2 to make room for the new babies. I did end up with 2 cribs because Joey and Ellie are 51 weeks apart, but Joey went to a toddler bed at 2 because Ellie needed Joey's crib (the mattress couldn't go any lower on her crib since we broke the height adjusters) as she grew taller. We moved Ellie to a bed at 2 because I was tired of looking a crib!!!

If you have a bed for him, give it a try.

 

I'd say get another crib - either gently used or you can get a crib on the inexpensive side - at 2.5 mine are nowhere near ready for beds!
