The twins are getting bored (or at least I think they are getting bored) with their current toys. Most are just
little plastic things (keys, rings, the usual) and books and such.
We have some big things like exercauser and jumperoo and a few noisy toys, such as a steering wheel that makes
all kinds of sounds with buttons and things.

We are heading to Toys R Us this weekend. Any suggestions? Feel free to recommend small, medium, or large toys.

    Thanks so much!

I would get an activity table, stacking toys, things you can put in something and take them out, etc. Have fun shopping.

Definitely stacking things, especially cups. Mine love those. Also, they like this A LOT. They can play a lot of music without a lot of coordination, so it works out perfectly. The packaging is such that you can try it out in the store. too. Also, their cousin got the Little People's Noah's Ark for Christmas. We don't do the religious stuff, but if you want, you can buy just the animals in the Little People's section and they are so fun for the babies to play with and chew on. All the LP figurines are hits with my two.

    Happy Shopping!

Thanks! I really like the musical thing, I just saw something similar to that at Wal Mart.
I did get them some of those stacking rings, but the ones at the bottom of the page you
sent to me looked a lot more interesting; they were animal print.

Also, we do the religious thing so we will definitely look into the Noah's Ark toy--thanks!

If anyone else has a specific toy their twins love, let me know!

    And let the shopping begin!

Believe it or not, Lego's work really well now too. You wouldn't think that knew much to do with them around that age, but you'd be surprised when you see them stacking! Plus, it's a good bonding experience that you can join in to.. such as initially showing them what to do, explaining colors, ect.

I think the Little People toys are for babies over a year, so you might want to hold off on that until their first birthday.

At 7 months mine still mostly played with little toys. They liked the Fisher Price Amazing Animal choo choo though (not sure it's sold in stores anymore), but otherwise it's the same, teethers, rattles, soft books etc. They didn't really care for activity tables, even on the floor, and were more interested in them once they were on their feet and could pull up. Honestly they still love stacking cups, balls etc the best.

Ours loved the activity tables that had lights and music and one without and they loved them both. We did get some of the little people stuff around then too and just put up everything else but the people/animals until later.

We have this activity table that the boys got for their first birthday. The legs come off and it can just sit on the floor. I really wish I had gotten this earlier. The boys still LOVE it, but to know that it would last for over a year is a big plus for my when buying a toy! Second hand stores usually have some type of this for less $.

I got this train for the boys and they really liked the animals at 8 months, but now love the train part.

I'll keep brainstorming and see if there is anything else.

Mine love the Leap Frog Learn and Groove musical table. Its a big hit and their faces always light up. We've had it since they were 6 months. I tried the playskool ball popper thing, but that so far has turned out to be mostly terrifying for them and we're working past it not leaving them in tears. I've just introduced them to a very sophisticated toy.... plastic bowls and wooden spoons. They could sit there forever just banging away on the bowls! Only thing is you really have to watch them thanks to the spoon handles, but thats not a problem.
Another thing they love is the Fisher Price basketball hoop that makes sounds when you pull the hoop and other things. Very cute :)
