My Daughter is not the best behaved child in the world.. I have always put her in the cart because she would just run around the store... I even lifted her while i was Pregnant... well now i have the two babies.. i am so scared to go to the store.. but i have too. we have no food!!i could wait until wednesday when DH is off, but i will starve... (prob not a bad thing... just kidding) how do i keep her being good without me going nuts.. i know the store has those giant double shopping carts... i can fit both babies in the carriers in the top part.. should i put DD in the basket part? or should i let her walk with me..? I feel like a bad mommy bc she doesnt listen to me... she did spend almost 2 years of her life staying at home with her dad... who didnt pay attention to her... (we had colored walls... crayon and markers..)

please help! so i dont end up in a mental hospital!! :umm:

I take 2 carts so that she can sit and play in the cart part. That was the only way I could do it when my twins were little. Or go when they could stay home with someone and I could go alone. Good luck - it is a challenge!

    Mmmm ... I feel your pain ...

This is us last week at our vacation but my mom was there ... http://images4.fotopic.net/?iid=yozk1y&amp...1&nostamp=1. Honestly, I try to avoid going with 3 kids or only if I need a few items (basket) and then my twins will sit in the stroller, my oldest walks and I grab the stuff and load it in the bottom of the stroller. I have sitters for the twins and/or my oldest and she's in school as well, and that's when I go shopping (besides when my dh is here).

My oldest is pretty good though. I have her help me, get stuff, search for stuff, hold it, have her choose a snack, etc. I've gone with all 3 a couple of times (when they were still in their infant carriers), one in the car part of the big shopping cart, one in the basket, one on top ... but then you have nowhere to store your stuff. I've also done (Target), pushing the double snap n go, pulling a cart and have my 3 year old walk (she was 2 1/2 yo at the time).

Sorry, no better advice. Just keep your oldest occupied, explain the rules before you go to the store, offer her something for good behaviour (sticker, special treat, etc.) and make sure she's involved in being mommy's big helper ...

    Good luck!

I always push the stroller with the babies, pull the cart with the 3 year old.

Do your grocery stores have those shopping carts with the "cars" in front - where kids can sit in and pretend they are "driving"? That might occupy her. I'm sure if they have them in your area you'd know about it - but you never know. I'm in CA - so I don't know if they are all over or what. I feel for you as I just have my twins and it's hard to get to the store. Maybe a "play" shoping cart would occupy her to. Some store have the little ones. Or you might be able to pick one up at a K-mart - I know - another shopping trip - but it may be worht it in the long run - if she feels like she's helping Mommy shop. Good Luck!

Two carts.. Babies in their carriers in one, 4 year old and groceries in the other. Sometimes I have to push and pull the carts. Other days I drag my 8 year old too, then she gets one cart and I get the other. :)

I put one baby in a sling and one in a carseat (aka the bucket in our house) across the big part of the carriage. DD usually walks but is struggling with Lyme so she is tired and sometimes rides in the front. I have also put the twins in a moby wrap and carried them, but I get too many oohh and ahhs and it takes forever to get past the old ladies. I applaud those of you who can manage two carts.

I've only done big grocery trips with the twins a few times. It does get hectic so I try to do it when someone can watch the kids or DH occasionally goes instead. On the few occasions I've done it, the twins went in one shopping cart and my 3 year old sits in another cart with the groceries (sometimes the kind that have the car hooked on front). I push one, pull the other. It does work, but it is a lot to do. The only thing I would suggest is ask for help getting everything to the car. They usually offer me help before I have a chance to ask. I have found the parking lots are often unlevel and it's hard pushing and pulling the carts plus cars are using flying through the lot.
