I came in early Tues. morning with contractions. I was already 5 cm. Thankfully the contractions stopped w/ a dose of terbutaline. I am now on Mag Sulfate and antibiotics. I've had 2 doses of Brethine. My BPP today showed low fluid on Baby A (our boy) everything else is good. I've had no problems this pg and been taking it fairly easy. The Dr is taking me off the Mag on Friday, doing another BPP, starting procardia,etc.... we live 5 mins from the hospital; they have a big NICU here if needed. My mom took all my other kids home with her for now.

 it sounds like they're taking great care of you & your babies! hang in there. and rest assured that while 34 weeks is still early, babies born at that gestation often do very well. my girls arrived at 34w1d, spent 2 weeks in the NICU & are beautiful, thriving toddlers today.

Yup you are in good hand.don't worry too much, just relax. There's chance you still can carry them longer.and like pp said, 34w babies will do well even they might need some nicu time. Mine came 32w1d thanks to my baby girl tried to get out and broke my water.they stayed in nicu for 2 weeks. They are healthy and active babies now. If mine cound survive, so do yours.
So just relax, rest rest rest because after them come, oh boy the real work begins you won't have time to sleep.

I agree with the PP. Although 34 weeks is a little early, it isnt SUPER early either. Relax and rest.

My 3 yr olds were born at 33 and 3. No complications, 11 days in NICU as feeder growers. Not the best but certainly not the worst! :youcandoit:

I agree with the above, we want them to stay in as long as possible, but 34 weeks is good if you have to go. My girls were one day shy of 36 weeks and we had no NICU time at all.

Misty, good for you for going int & getting checked. I'm glad they were able to stall labor. How's it going now?

Thank you all for the encouragement. I am doing good. Thankful for a laptop and wireless internet!! I am just hanging out today....Tomorrow they stop the mag, do another BPP, check me and decide if I get procardia or not.....

Gosh it's so strange how different physicians handle things ... I am 34 weeks pregnant with b/g twins today. Had 2 physician appointments, one with Maternal Fetal specialist and the other with specialty OB doctor. Had biophysical done on the babies and all looks perfect. Have been on bedrest since 18 weeks of pregnancy. Today they took me off the terbutaline and took me off of my modified bed rest. Basically told me that if they come in the next day or two that all was well, but they suspect they will certainly come in the next couple of weeks - that all looks great and they would do nothing to stop them.

I sure hope all the different notes above from babies coming at this stage encourages you. I'm thrilled to be off the meds and not trying to stop the contractions. I wish you the best and hope you get another week or two if they need it, but will pray that they do great if they come sooner!

    Be encouraged!

My high risk ob said that after 34 weeks if the babies want out she lets em out. Mine only spent 1 week in the nicu. Congrats on making it this far :)

Thank you all! Today they turned off the magnesium, the babies' AFI's are good (7 & 12) and I haven't dilated any more. HOPEFULLY if I don't start labor up tonight then I can go home tomorrow although I am not sure the Dr. wants me to.....I really don't want to sit around here waiting for labor to start when we live 5 minutes away....

I am home!! I don't think the Dr really wanted me to come home but if I am just sitting around at 5 cm waiting for contractions I might as well be at home I think :) He did give me a prescription for Procardia in hopes that we can keep them in for a couple more weeks; will be on bedrest for a little while at home. I would LOVE to not have my little ones in NICU so I am going to try to be good....

Yay for being home! I was just in for preterm labor myself at 33 weeks. My girls ended up coming at 34w4d, but aside from the small size, they're doing great - so don't worry too much. Just try to take it easy and enjoy being out of the hospital. Good luck!
