I also posted this on the first years thread but I need some help figuring out what size i shouldd be buying most of their layette items in. Most advice out there says not to buy newborn sizes b/c they grow out of it so quickly but im thinking that since even full term twins are usually smaller so should I be buying most of the onesies, sleepers, and other layette items in Newborn or in 0-3 months??? I have a bunch of premie clothes that were given to me by other twin mom's so I have plenty of preemie clothes some say fit up to 5lbs and some say fit up to 7lbs and the newborn stuff says it fits up to 8.5 lbs.

I guess what I'm asking is should I be buying their layette items in newborn sizes or 0-3 month sizes??

    Thanks so much
    Erica

Also if anyone has a must haves list or what and how many of each item (i.e. sleepers, onsies, gowns, etc...) that they bought that would be GREAT!!

Thanks for asking this question. A clothing breakdown would be excellent. I have been gathering and am due in winter months but is hard to decide if I have "enough". I am starting to think I will wait and see....
Edited: Ok I just noticed some detail is in the announcement on beginner tips, what to buy. Thanks anyways!

Yes i love that list in beginners tips my question is more about sizing though and whether I should be buying all those items in newborn sizes or 0-3 months....

Hey ladies, my suggestion would be to buy a bit in both. They do grow out of newborn soooo fast but there is that time when you wil lneed the smaller clothes. You can always roll the sleeves or bottoms of the pants of the 0-3 for the time that they'll be too big but honestly, i'm sure once you have them, you'll be out buying tons more clothes for the because they'll be on sale or "it looks cute". If ou find you need more then you can always go out and buy more. As hard as it sounds, there will come a time when it makes you feel soooo good about yourself that you took out twins...by yourself....went shopping and you actually survived. I would say mix it up and not alot of newborn but some...remember, you can still wash clothes too. :)

I only had 0-3 months clothing and up. I got 2 preemie things from a friend (up to 8 pounds), my son got to wore it once. Having said that ... mine were average singleton size, 12 days early ... so not very typical for twins.
