Need some advise

I want to start introducing Milk to the girl's, Should I give them Vitamin D Milk? How much should I give them right now? I was thinking maybe 4 oz of Milk and still 4 oz. of formula. Does that sound right to anyone else?

 

Definitly do whole milk. What I suggest is to put it in a sippy at the table and start with half milk and half formula. Your goal is that by a year it should be just milk. Also, try to get it to no more than 20 oz a day at a year and older - more table foods, etc.

Definetly use whole milk. I wouls start with a couple onces with a meal and see how they handle it. If they do good then add a little bit more. I am starting with a once or two in a sippy with dinner.

 

I used to work in a daycare and its recommended to give a child under the age of two whole milk and then switch at two to 2%.

 

We haven't got to that point yet, so I don't know about how. But I agree about whole milk. (which I think the vit D is?) But if you mix it with formula, I think that would be fine. You could always taste & see. (sounds gross, but I usually taste things that are new)

 

Whole milk and just about 4 oz. at a time is probably fine!!

 

I have been wondering the same thing. It's funny how I have forgotten everything that I did just 2 years ago...

Just another perspective. We didn't "trasition". We went from warm formula in bottles one day to cold milk in sippies the next, and never looked back. My point is, whatever mixture you choose, should be fine--BTW, we did the switch at 11 1/2 months according to the ped's directons.
