Need some advice

My DD is really for the most part ready to potty train. The only problem that I have is that she tells me after she goes, not before so that we can get to the potty. SHe gets really upset if she goes in a diaper, pull-up or panties. Any ideas on how to help her learn to tell me before it happens??

How old is she Sue?

My girls were late, and we used rewards to finally get them to train once they were ready. They would get M&Ms if they went on the potty and that for them was a huge incentive to get there. Also, consider estimating when it's time and have her sit a few minutes here and there, combined with reward for success. If she's ready that should work. If she's not she's just not.

She is 26 months. My DS has NO interest in using the potty, other than to sit and read a book or two. LOL!! I feel bad for her becuase she gets it, yet she doesnt. She has went on her potty a couple of times, yet I will ask her at intervals throughout the day and she just says No Thank You. I am glad she is polite about it, LOL, yet she gets so upset when she has went in her diaper or pull up.

I may have to hold out for awhile and let nature take its course with this. UGH!!

 

Keep trying Sue! I think she will get it, because it sounds like she is ready, just needs to learn how it happens for her.
