So as I've posted earlier, we are moving back to the USA soon. I can't decide if I want to bring the Graco duoglider back with me or just buy a new stroller there. How much longer will I use a stroller? Here are some thoughts.

    1. We have two single strollers we are bringing home with us. We used these a lot on a recent vacation/airports.
    2. I like the duoglider for shopping because it is not side by side, but realistically, right now, when I go shopping, I put them in the shopping cart.
    3. I'd like to maybe get a side by side jogging stroller for jogging etc.
    4. My mom found a Maclaren light weight fold up side by side stroller at the consignment shop for 99.00 and I am not sure if I would really use it all that much.
    5. With my chunko kids, the duoglider is getting difficult to push!

Any help from you ladies about stroller use in the USA would be really helpful. What am I not thinking about? Which strollers are ideal and in what situations.

    Thanks!
    Melissa

Here in the US I have different strollers for different situations just like where you are. You probably won't see much change (although I am not sure how different it is where you are). We have two single strollers for when my dh and I are out together with the kids. Those are nice to have when we don't want to lug around a big, heavy stroller. I have a Duoglider that I use to go pretty much everywhere. I like it because it fits through narrow aisles at the mall. It can be tough to fit a side by side in many stores. It also has great sunshades that you usually don't get with side by sides so I use it for walks to the park or the pool with the kids during the hot sunny weather. I have a double jogging stroller which I use to go on runs with the kids, or I use it to walk to the town center because the route has some rugged terrain and the stroller goes over that pretty easily. I also have a regular side by side (Peg Perego) which I like because it's so light and easy to push (much easier than the Duoglider). When I'm tired of the Duoglider I use that. Really, I guess I am spoiled and fickle when it comes to strollers  but it is really nice to have different strollers for different situations. I wouldn't give up your Duoglider because you'll need it for narrower spaces, and I would ask your mom to get that Maclaran for you. You just never know what you might want. :) Plus I am not sure how it is where you live but it is really easy to find strollers cheap or free here. My single strollers where cheapie $20 ones from the baby store, my Duoglider was a free hand-me-down from a neighbor, my double jogging stroller was a cheap yard sale item, and my Peg Perego was a shower gift. So you can afford to be fickle! :)

It really depends where you're going to live. We live in town and have a double jogger (Mountain Buggy) that we use for all of our walks. We keep it in the garage and almost never put it in the car, unless we're going to the zoo. We also have a Maclaren double umbrella that we use for the doctor's office and the mall -- i.e., when we'll be going someplace in the car but mostly walking indoors. It's also nice to have as a backup if the MB gets a flat. So, we probably only use it once a month if that, but it's nice to have.

I almost never take the kids shopping (or if we do, we go on the weekend as a family), but when we do, they ride in the cart. At Costco they ride in the same cart; at the grocery store we have to get 2 carts. But I wouldn't do it with the stroller in any case.

    We have two strollers:

We have the duoglider that we use when going to the mall, target, etc...I like it b/c it's easy to get through tight aisles....it is becoming harder and harder to push b/c the girls are getting so big though...i personally would not get a lightweight side by side b/c you can't maneuver through aisles with a side by side....

We also have a double BOB Revolution baby jogger...i LOVE this stroller! We live in town and so we take walks quite often and we use this all the time.....we haven't been to the PHiladelphia zoo here yet, but we plan on going a lot this summer and we will use this stroller for the zoo....
