I am very sorry, but I have a constant need for reassurance that my twin pregnancy is going well. My cervix was over 4 til about 20 weeks and then hovered at 3.8-3.7 the next two months. Now at my last check, last Thursday, it was 3. My doc said at this point, it starts to decrease and that it's actually more than many women he sees has with one baby but in my mind, I think, what if that .7 loss was in just a week's time, or even just a day's time? There's no way of knowing, so I still feel like PTL is just looming around every corner. I also have GD. The good news is though, my diet is controlling it very well, I have minimal BH, usually when I need to pee or when a baby moves, just regular discharge, nothing unusual there, no blood, or anything like that. I'm having pains or at least, I was the last 2 weeks, but they've lessened now. I get a few AF cramps, but generally laying on my left side or drinking something eases them. I'm 31 weeks and 4 days right now. Would you say things are in my favor? I tried looking up studies of cervical length and risk of PTL and got some hits, but it was a bit hard for me to understand sometimes.

Sounds like you are doing great! Your cervix does start to thin more as you get closer to delivery. I think that a measurement of 3 at your stage, sounds great! I went on bedrest at 28 weeks for a cervix that went from 5 to 2.5 in a week. After one week of bedrest, it was back up to 4. I am telling you this so you can see that taking it easy has its benefits. If you are worried, stay off of your feet! It can't hurt for sure! I was a nervous wreck from about 24 weeks on with the twins, it is so stressful, but what you are feeling is normal, don't apologize! You are doing a great job...try not to worry, I know it's difficult! [IMG]

my doc said 3 and a half was great back at 26 weeks.... mine thinned and then at 28 started to funnel (dialate near the opening) But today at 30 weeks there has been no change. So anything over 3 is supposed to be great... and i wouldnt worry unless doc says too!! You are not on your own.. keep on asking!

It is my understanding that anything over 2 at 30 weeks is good. Sounds like you are doing just fine! I would definitely say things are in your favor, keep up the great work!

At my last OB appointment my cervix measured 3.3.My peri said that as we get further along it gets harder to measure and it shortens naturally. I'm not worried at all unless I have symptoms that go along with cervical changes. At 31 weeks 3.0 you're just fine!

Sounds like you are doing fine. Your cervix still has a good length and you are almost at 32 weeks. Mine was 1.9 at 28 weeks and at my 30 week appointment they were checking it via ultrasound, I had a BH while they were doing it and it went down to NOTHING! I kept them in for another 5 weeks!!! So don't worry. EVerything is going great and you are at the homestretch!

From everything I've heard/read, it sounds like you are doing great! I wouldn't worry (ha, like any of us really don't worry...)

We are very close in our due dates! Hang in there!
