Have you thought about doing straight sippies? LIke the Nuby ones with the spout....those are probably closest to a bottle and I believe are the easiest to transition.

I agree with Jennifer. You might want to try to go to just sippies. We used playtex bottles before we got rid of bottles at 1.

yes like i said they use the sippies throughout the day but sometimes for some reason when we are out sophia likes her bottle..and at night they have a bottle before bedtime... just for the time being i need suggestions on which to purchase.

I wouldn't buy new bottles. Personally, I would do a little bit of tough love and only offer the sippies. If they take milk from them at other times, they can definitely handle it and it will only take a little bit of time before they realize no more bottles and if they want to drink, it's the sippy cup. If you aren't up for that, then I would just stick with the Dr. Browns. I don't see the point in getting new bottles and it sounds like any without the inserts would cause gas and therefore be a waste of money. JMHO. Good luck. I remember hating the transition with one of my daughters. She didn't drink well for a while and we finally switched to the straw sippy cups and she's been fine ever since.

We use Nuby soft spouts at night and those work well for us.

I agree with the PP--sounds like a great time to wean them off bottles..even the night one. We did that at 1 year. It was hard, but gotta do it sometime!

Mine are bottle lovers...thought I would never get them off bottles...they won't take milk in a sippy at all (all four of my kids have been like this...I have NO idea why!!). These Nuby soft spout they took to right away. I ditched every bottle I had that day and just started them on these and there was no issue whatsoever. I told them it was a big girl (boy) bottle.

Give it a try they are cheap and don't leak usually.

Start by only offering them the sippy before bed and have the bottle close by but out of sight...they may whine a bit but if it is not an all out fit just let it go. I had this same problem with my boys morning bottles just around the time they turned one. They also loved the bottle when we were out but I just keep giving them the sippy, it took about a week and I had no more problems. The fact that they are taking the sippy all day is a huge plus, if it takes a week or two to eliminate that last bottle, so be it but I would not let it linger. GL!
