Hi, well we finally came up with a name Ryleigh Madisyn (unless we change to Madisyn Ryleigh) Now the only thing is there are a million variations on spelling both names. Everyone could you post a bunch of suggestions. Hubby doesn't care for all the y's in there but I just want to get different idea's. BTW last name is Angel if that matters. Thanks all!

    Reilly Madison

Your other three have the standard spelling of their names so why not do the standard for your third.

The name is beautiful but I will have to side with your DH....I don't like the "Y" spelling it looks mis-spelled to me. I like the simple Madison Riley or Madison Ryleigh.

IRL I have a non-standard spelling (well, I have a name that is really similar to a more common name, but the effect is the same). I hated it when I was in school, because everyone spelled it wrong and pronounced it wrong. I made a point of giving my kids all regular spellings. This just easier when you are a kid, and they can always choose a spelling that suits them better as they get older. I have a friend who switched from "Robin" to "Robyn" while she was in high school, for instance. To this day I have to spell my name carefully over the phone, point out the fact that it is THIS name, not THAT name, and still half the time people get it wrong. And even when they spell it right they almost always pronounce it wrong.

    I vote for traditional spellings.

    I'd go with Riley Madison.

I had a brutal German last name growing up. I got SO tired of it always being mispronounced and having to spell it for everybody. At least I was able to escape it through marriage to a guy with a nice normal last name that is spelled like it sounds. Your daughter will have her first name for life.

Riley Madison......as a teacher when we see names spelled in "unique" ways sometimes we are not sure on how they should be pronounced.

I am not "into" the unique spellings of names but I see it spelt this way "Riley" as a male name. It does look a bit more feminine with the Ryley. Spelling it Ryleigh also makes me think that I am supposed to emphasize the "leigh". Personally I would spell Madison this way.

Different ways to spell Riley that seem feminine and do not put emphasis on the end and do not make me think the name is pronounced "really" or "rely" to me are

    Rylee Madison
    Ryley Madison

I'm in the traditional camp as well. Although, I think Rylee Madison would be okay too. :)

I agree.. traditional spellings! Have it match your other two!

Agree here. Don't make you child explain & spell her name every day for the rest of her life.

Another vote for traditional spellings. I think Rylee Madison would be a good compromise though.

As someone who has her name mis-spelled all the time, I encourage you to do a more traditional spelling. I have to spell out my name all the time and people still do it wrong. They don't really seem to either look or listen, they just automatically spell it their way. (Mine is the traditional spelling, but not here in the States. :) ) I would go with Riley Madison. I think you have more lee-way with Riley, but Madison with a "y" just looks strange.

I would go with either Reilly or Riley Madison. I don't like the non traditional way of spelling names, like subbing the y's or changing the y at the end to ee or eigh. JMHO.

I like Ryleigh Madison - my middle name is Leigh and I did have a few people mispronounce it - my 5th grade teacher insisted it was Leah - but I have always loved that it was spelled differently.

I am actually a fan of certain unusual spelling. Some are overdone so much that makes it confusing, like I once knew a girl namedsomething like Nadylie, pronounced like Natalie. I think it looks pretty, but I couldn't for the life of me ever remember how it was spelled. A lot of nontraditional spelling look a lot prettier to me than the traditional ones, like Carlee instead of Carly for example.

    Anyway, I love Rylee Madison.

    Other spellings of Rylee:

    Riley
    Ryley
    Reiley
    Rilee
    Rylee
    Reilee
    Rileigh
    Ryleigh
    Reileigh
    Riliegh
    Ryliegh
    Reiligh
    Rily
    Reily
    Rilie
    Rylie
    Reilie

    HTH!!

I am with the majority of the pp and like the traditional Riley Madison. My daughter is also named Madison and I just felt like the traditional spelling saves a lot of confusion, misspellings etc. later on down the road.

Seeing as Ryleigh is not a traditional name, I think you can spell it however you want. I like the different variations with the "y".

With Madison, I'd go traditional. It's a middle name anyway so there's not as much need to distinguish it from all the other Madisons.

I prefer the Rylee spelling and would only spell Madison the traditional way.
