I really need some help with my schedule. my LO's are having issues with their dinner feeding and i am not sure why.

    here's our schedule:
    8:30 - 6.5 oz bottle and cereal/fruit
    10:30 - nap
11:00 - 6.5 oz bottle (kids do not seem hungry at this time really)
(sometimes they nap at around 1, other times they stay up and then fall asleep at 2; they nap anywhere from 1 -
    2 hours)
    2:00 - 6.5 oz bottle
    5:00 - 6.5 oz bottle and veggie/meat
    8:00 - 6.5 oz bottle

by the time 5:00 rolls around they begin to fuss and want nothing to do with eating their solids. they only want their bottles. we attempt to feed them their solids after their bottles but sometimes they aren't eating them. i think they are full.

    any tips?

my pedi said to start a 3rd meal, too so i am not sure how to 'tweak' my schedule. i don't want to go crazy and change all the times.

    thanks so much!

I'm counted 5 bottles a day. Over the amt that is recommended by my pedi...he said 24oz. I do 4 8oz bottles. That might help. I'm not sure what your pedi thinks, but it works for us.
    Try pushing lunch back,12:30 or
maybe before their pm nap, I don't do bottles with meals I do them in between.

    so 8 oz bottles at
    8
    12
    4
    8

when do i do solids? the kids have no problems eating their cereal/fruit with their am bottle. i feel like with a lot of the schedules i see, so much of the day is spent feeding!

Honestly it sounds like too much too many times a day. I dropped down to 4 bottles a day once had the one feed solidly in the schedule-i would do your am feed at 8 and stretch 11am feed until 12 and up the bottle intakes to 7-8 ounces 4 x a day. We feed bottles at 8/12/4/8 with one solid after the 4pm. We are now adding in 2nd w/ no problem.they rarely have any "leftovers" with the exception of an ounce or two of bottle here or there. GL!

I'm thinking I would change the 11 & 2 bottles & maybe give one bottle around 12:30 or 1:00 instead of those two. Then they will likely be hungrier for their 5:00 feeding. You could try offering 8 oz at that time and see how it goes.

do i make their breakfast bottle 7 oz when i give them their solids?

So up the bottles to 7 oz. and the schedule should look like this:
    8 - bottle/solids
    12 - bottle
    4 - bottle
    5 - soilds
    8 - bottle

I give my boys their solids about 1/2 hour-hour after their morning bottle. They get 4 7 ounce bottles a day plus two solids. It is a pain to have to feed that many times but they don't eat as much if they get the bottle at the same time as their solids.

I am interested to see your responses. I have been having issues with mine as well. I don't really have a set schedule. I just aim for 4 bottles for one boy and 5 for the other. They get their morning bottles together and their first solid is together. After that...I just have to wait and see what they want.

    Good luck!

it does seem like a pain, lol!

this is what i was thinking...i am excited to get a 'set' schedule and help.

8 - 6.5 bottle/solids (it works for us right now....but i am willing to do solids later if thats wha u guys think!!)
    12 - 8 oz bottle
    4 - 8 oz bottle
    5 - soilds
    8 - 8oz bottle

I do solids after their bottles. Our schedule looks like this most of the time. Not always since they are awake and it is 1230 here.

    7am-bottle
    9am-solids (fruit)
11-12 depending on fussiness bottle and nap
    3pm-bottle
    430 or 5pm solids(vegtable)
    7pm bottles and bed

Mine will only nap once a day but it is anywhere from 1hr. to 3hrs. It is a pain but, it works for us.

well now our schedule is all sorts of messed up, lol!
    here's what they did today!!

    8:30 – 7.0 oz bottle and fruit/cereal
    10:00 – 10:35 – nap
    12:00 – 7 oz bottle
12:45 – 2:30 nap (one LO i had to hold for 45 mins!)
    4:00 – 4 oz bottle

    5:30 ??? – nap
    6ish?? - solids

    8:00 -6 oz bottle

they never nap now and they are! i hope it doesn't mess up our bedtime. when they wake up i plan on giving them solids.
when they nap after dinner they usually don't fall right asleep after their baths!

Gosh, I'm really sorry your schedule is so messed up now.
You don't really have to go through with the 3rd solid right at 8 months. Just go with the twins cues. Pedi's just give recommendations is not in stone.
I posted the guidelines that I got. I at nine months have not dropped the 4th bottle. I will by next month, but I reduce the oz little by little.
My twins see me snack they want it. They see me drink they want it. The show a deep deep desire for food if they see it or smell it cooking. They have since the 6 month.

    I have 2 other boys.
First one was soooo chuncky he wanted food all the time. He was 5 before he lost all his baby fat.

My second was more like your babies, no interest in alot of solids. I played it by ear. By the time he turned a year he was drooling over pizza.
