I need some help with our dilema for this month, it seems like it's something new every month/week/day. My girls are almost 3 yrs and they aren't napping like they did when they were smaller, in order to keep my sanity I still have them go to their room and just relax, play a little, watch Dora or Barney, well they board every easily and like to play dress up which I don't have a problem with except that they make the biggest messes with their clothes/socks/underwear/swimsuit/shoes, whatever is in the closet they make a mess. I've tried putting a smaller plactic drawer and keeping clothes that they can play with but they just seem to go for the clothes in the closet, I can't lock it or child proof it because they are the sliding doors, so does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or if they make such a thing of child proof for sliding doors so they won't open it?
    Thanks,
    Iris

Oooh, I've no idea, but if you figure it out...do let me know. My closet is the one with the sliding doors, and they  my husband's side of it. They crawl in there and hide or play with little things or just sneak candy. But they always are making a huge mess...and it does get old. So, just know you are not alone with that!

Doing a quick search, I just found these locks on Amazon. Might be worth a try! :good:

I just wanted to sympathize -- I love that my girls can play by themselves in their room now, but their favorite way of "playing" seems to be to trash the place! It's like it's no fun unless every single thing is removed from its proper place.

I can smypthize. Last summer my girls liked to play "the fair" and for some reason the fair ment get out every single thing and cover the floor with it. :umm: The only reason for that I can think of is fairs here are squished into the streets and the are usually really really crammed and crowded.

What about some sort of bar that blocks the siding one from sliding back, like people have for their patio doors?

I was wondering the same thing- and I've got two ideas, but haven't tried them yet.

    1. put a tension baby gate up against the "front" door. They could still open the "back" door, but couldn't get in the closet.
    2. get two tension rods (they'd have to be pretty sturdy though) at the top of each sliding door where they couldn't reach it. It'd be a pain in the you know what for US to get in the closet, but I think it'd work.

Good luck and let us know what you do!
