    Hi,
Having food issues the past few days. My DS just doesn't want to be spoon fed anymore...he takes the spoon and swats it getting food EVERYWHERE  I've tried giving him his own spoon but then he plays the game of dropping it and having me pick it up and it starts all over again. Usually I would end up putting some puffs or cheese cubes on his tray and he was happy. So now I need some food ideas?? DD still doesn't put anything in her mouth and I do it for her BUT she still doesn't mind being fed by a spoon.

    I've given them:

    Cheese cubes
    Puffs/cheerios
    cooked carrots/peas/sweet potatoes
    Bananas/pears/apples
    Pasta

What else can I give them? Any other ideas? The pasta I've tried but it's been plain. Can I put a tomato sauce on them?? Make Macroni and cheese? I don't want give them the same things all the time and would like to get them into other foods but don't have any clue??

Toast, waffles, pancakes, cut up real small using a pizza cutter. Yogurt, pudding, mandarin oranges.

I have been buying the gerber graduates diced fruits and veggies.

We've done mac n cheese, meatloaf, chicken (small pieces), turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, carrots, cheese, pancakes, cinnamon swirl toast, bagels......there is not much this guy won't eat.

So then are the spices and everything OK?? I was told no eggs or citrus and to make things bland by my pediatrician.

We eat meatloaf, pancakes, stuffing and I never even thought to give to my two. So it's fine if it has eggs and seasonings in it?? This would make life easier and they can eat what I make

Around that time I started whole grain waffles and pancakes (plain),
    yogurt
ground beef with cheese (they just gummed it and I would check their mouth later and get the leftovers out!)
    cheese cubes and shreds
    Eggs w/cheese usually
black beans (do on bath night)
    other beans

hope that helps a little bit!

Great post! I've been going through the same thing. It is getting very monotonous around here! I made beef stew last night so I plan on trying that out on them, pureed. We eat lots of instant oatmeal, yogurt mixed with applesauce or mashed bananas, baked squash, pureed and mixed with rice cereal, pureed dark chicken with mixed veggies, etc. I'm not really afraid to try new things on them, it's just the actually coming up with new things that's the hard part.

For finger foods, we do lots of cheerios, puffs, cheese, cubed bananas, pears, avacado, tofu, homeade mac n cheese with the little pasta, crackers (graham, or even ritz) , etc.

My DD went through this phase a few weeks ago where she refused to be fed....or was it my DS? I can't even remember now, we handed her a spoon and that helped, but she just got over it after several days.

I don't think your food needs to be bland, whatever the baby will eat is great in my opinion, as long as its not nuts, honey, etc. It think even foods with egg in it like pancakes would be OK. Just watch out for constipation, etc. I think if you can get them used to things like pepper, onion and garlic, it'll help them like big people food better. I have heard that too much tomato can be rough on their tummies....
