For my girls party we are doing chips, a vegetable platter with dip, and home made pigs in a blanket (one packet of hot dogs and one tube of refrigerated crescent rolls, I cu tthe hot dogs in half and then cut them in half again long ways so I get 4 servings out of one hot dog and then take the triangles and cut them in thirds long ways and wrap them around the hot dogs). Not sure if I am serving anything else or not since they will also be decorating their own cupcakes and I have it set up as the same time you do.

What about goldfish, sliced apples or oranges. You could even do cheese sandwiches cut up into fourths or mini homemade banana muffins.

I am going to make a box of vanilla and a one chocolate so since one daughter prefers vanilla/yellow cake than chocolate. I am making my own icing and am going to make two prime colors like blue and either yellow or red and then when they mix the two together they can have a third. I let them pick out sprinkles and it's an assortment of different shape ones (I got it at AC moore and they have 50% off one item coupon so it would it was cheaper). I will also put out some chocolate chips since I always have them in the house and crushed walnuts as long as no one has any nut allergies. I will also have some plain m&ms for them. I am going to put the icing in plastic sealed bags and cut a small tip off so they can squeeze it out, then have the other things in small bowls for them to pick from. Since my girls party is the week after Halloween I make take some of their cookies or candy that they get and crumble them up or crush them so they can sprinkle them on too.

I am so nervous about making their party fun and just right I think I might end up going over board on the toppings and maybe even some of the food. For me though their family birthday party is the following day so anything left over we will use the next day. I really want their friends to have fun (we are only inviting 7 friends and I don't know yet if they are all coming since we are just starting to hand out the invitations). Please let us know how everything goes. I am sure your children's party is going to be great.
