My girls are going to be one on V-day and they have absolutely everything they could possibly need or want. Wish Christmas just past and having all their grandparents in town I just don't have anymore that we need/want. Plus we have NOOOOOOO room in our house. Does anyone have any ideas on what we or our friends/family could get my girls for their 1st b-day?

    TIA!!!!!

I'm in the same boat considering the boys turn 1 March 1st. We still have gifts here we havn't set up from Christmas due to space and whatnot. As much as they 'currently' don't need it, I would try to go for clothes for any size up in the future (even 2t). It'll be out of the way so you can splurge on all the new toys & crazy inventions they come out with in the next year or so

What about a photo album of the first year?

Maybe they can get them gift certificates to your fav. stores to shop for them. This way, when they need clothes, etc. again you can go buy them as gifts. Just a thought GL!

I didn't really get my girls anything for their birthday. My original idea was to wait until after the party and then see what they needed. But after the party was over I realized they didn't need anything, so I never got them anything. I think I got them each 1 outfit that I gave them at their party, but that's it.

i would say gift cards too! they dont expire and you can use it later on im sure once spring/summer comes you might want to get a cute kiddie pool or riding car/wagon:)

We don't need anymore Fischer Price in our house either! I think we are going to get them their own little chairs. Like the ones you can buy from Pottery Barn Kids. Between that and the party, I'm sure they will have plenty and my house will again be filled with junk just like Christmas!

I would say ask for gift certificates, gift cards or saving bonds.
all things you can get that are useful and dont take up any room

I think my husband and I are going to get our kids their own chairs, and the little cars what are those things called?? AHH i can't think right now. They walk around in the cars... Oh yes, the coupes. Also I really want a two seater wagon w/ storage for trips to the zoo, and to the park, and things. I think they would enjoy that. I would definitley ask for clothes, diapers, money for their piggy banks or savings account, and gift cards. I think I want a ball pit for my kids, and also a little tykes slide, oh and a swing for the tree.

But my kids were born in the summer, and we have nothing for outside... Maybe a sandbox?

We're thinking about getting them their own little chairs too! But I also think the gift card idea is a good one. That way you don't have to 'store' so many things for later - IF they ever use them.

[for Christmas people got the girls 6-9 month clothing. Sure, you think they're just turning 6 months, it will work out just fine.. but my girls are already out-growing those!!]

Getting clothes for when they're older is also a good idea. Those are usually pretty easy to store away.

If you don't have any LARGER toys like the Fisher Price learning kitchen or the doorway one -- those are great.

Books for now and when they are older.

Videos (Dora, sesame street, etc. -- look around for a variety of ages)

IOU -- babysitting cards or days out with grandma, auntie, etc. even just for an icecream

tickets to a theme park or kids show nearby

keepsake things like their names on a keepsake box
