Hi... I was wondering if people can provide feedback about what and how much they feed their 7-8 month old children. I have looked at online charts at like Gerber and it's not answering my question.

Currently, in the AM between my son and daughter they'll share two tablespoons (dry) oatmeal/rice cereal along with one 1st food package of fruit. For lunch and dinner, they'll share two containers (1st food) of veggie. And they'll nurse/bottle 4-6 times a day.

Is this too much? Too little? Just wondering. When did you know to move to stage 2/stage 3?

    Thanks.

My girls are almost 8 months. They are eating 4 tablespoons each of oatmeal with 7oz. bottles of formula for breakfast. For lunch they share one Stage 2 fruit and each get a 6oz. formula bottle (if they are still acting hungry then I just open up another jar and feed them until they are full, but that doesn't happen much). For dinner they share a Stage 2 veggie and each get a 6oz. formula bottle. Then bedtime they get a 6oz. bottle.

I am introducing the Gerber puffs to them, so after breakfast, lunch and dinner they each get about 3 puffs each. It is SOOOO funny to watch them with the puffs in their mouths. They look so confused. But they know how to chew. Have you introduced puffs or anything like it yet?? I just did this week.

My boys eat solids 2 times a day. At each feeding, they each have 3 tbs of oatmeal. In the morning they have about 1 1/2 jars of stage one fruit that they split. At dinner, they eat have atheior own stage 2 veg.

They have four 8oz bottles a day

They really like to eat. They open wide and get excited. It seems that all babies around this age are so different.

We went to stage 2 a few wekks after all stage one was introduced. So around 6 months 1 week

They are 17 and 18 lbs

Mine get 2 solid feedings a day. They get oatmeal and fruit in the morning and rice cereal and veg. in the evening. Mine get four 6oz bottles a day. My DD often will only take 4 ounces. They have never had a big appetite . . . they take after their daddy!

My doctor said to do stage 1 during month 6, stage 2 during month 7, and stage 3 and table food during month 8. I've been following this so far.

    Good luck!

It sounds pretty good to me.....your next step might be to get them to eat 3 meals a day.....then move to gerber 2's......

Actually that is about right... for two solid feedings a day.

At that age mine were on 4 solid feedings a day... fruits for breakfast, veggies for lunch, meats for dinner, and then before bed was rice or oatmeal... they also had 4 bottles a day as well.
