Our pedi said to give them a bottle and then offer solids, so I'm trying to figure out the best way for this. He wants us doing cereal 3x a day. (It's so difficult to fit everything in!)

Here's what the schedule looked like before:
    6:00 wake
    6:30 bottle
    7:45 or 8 nap
    9:30 or 10 cereal
    10:30 bottle
    11:30 nap
    2:00 cereal
    2:30 bottle
    3:30 short nap
    4:45-5 cereal
    6:15 bath
    6:30 bottle and bed

Here's what we tried this weekend:
    6:00 wake
    6:30 bottle
    7:30 cereal
    7:50 nap
    10:45 bottle
    11:30 veggies and cereal
    11:50 nap
    2:30 bottle
    3:30 short nap
    4:45 or 5 cereal
    6:15 bath
    6:30 bottle and bed

I can tell they're tired by the time we're feeding the cereal at breakfast and lunch (they get fidgety towards the end). Yesterday and today they've fallen asleep within about 5 minutes of cleaning things up and putting them in their bouncy seats (which I'm not complaining about!). If I keep up with this schedule, do you think they'll get used to it and not be so tired when we're feeding the solids? TIA!

Cereal three times a day seems a bit excessive.

    I would try this:

    6:00 wake/bottle
    7:00 cereal
    8:00 nap
    10:00 bottle
    11:30 cereal/fruit or veggies
    12:30 nap
    2:30-3 bottle
    5:00 cereal/veggies or stage 2
    6:15 bath
    6:30 bottle and bed

I don't know if this helps, but we usually do solids about a 1/2 hour after nursing. We are only doing two meals a day right now. Our schedule looks something like this (times are approximate):

    7:00 wake
    7:30 nurse
    8:00 cereal with fruit
    9:00-11:00 nap
    11:30 nurse
    1:00-3:00 nap
    3:30 nurse
    4:00 cereal with veggie
    5:30 nurse
    6:30 bath
    7:00 nurse and to bed

I am not expert, but I think they will get used to it, but I agree with the pp that you should move your feedings closer to after your bottles. Good Luck. Let us know what happens.

We only do cereal/solids 2x a day now too. I don't think my girls could stomach it 3x a day yet. JMO though.

At 6 months we did give 3 cereal meals. The Ped schedule recommended 4-5 tablespoons cereal/day, 1-2 tbs veg/day increasing to 4-5 /day by 7 months and fruit 2 tbs/day.

    7am wake and bottle
    7:45 cereal and fruit
    9:30 nap
    11:30 bottle
    12:00 cereal and veg
    2:00 nap
    3:45 bottle
    5:00 cereal and veg
    6:45 bottle
    7pm bed

We still follow this schedule at 9 months but they're eating more at each feeding. Do what works for you. Some days we have to adjust due to short/long naps, outings etc.
